Datejust Reference Numbers and Dial Choices?
Hi all
I have been trying to do some searches online and couldn't find anything (or maybe I don't know how to search! ). What is the model number for a 36mm TT (SS and Gold) DJ with Jubilee bracelet with a white Jubilee diamond dial? What would be the model number for 31mm version? I think there are a few models as Rolex updated the DJ (ignore DJII) I am also not sure if there are different model numbers for the jubilee vs oyster brackets and different dials etc. Sport Rolex watches are so much easier! haha... Thanks all! Vincent |

.
To make it simple: Bracelet (except leather vs metal) and dial don't make any difference in model number. Only the metal and bezel. Last digit is for the metal : . 0 : SS . 1 : rolesor SS/PG . 2 : rolesium SS/PT . 3 : rolesor SS/YG . 4 : rolesor SS/WG . 5 : PG . 6 : PT . 7 : YG 14k . 8 : YG 18k . 9 : WG Previous is for bezel : . 0 : polished/domed . 2 : engine turned (SS) . 3 : fluted (gold) , ( or 7 for lady DJ) . 6 : rotating, gold (TurnOGraph) . 4 or 8 : diamant bezel Previous is 1 for DJ on leather band , 2 for DJ , 3 for DJ2 In front of that you have 116 for last DJ (since 2004), 16 before (since 1987). So a DJ 116200 is SS with polished bezel and ss bracelet (being jubile or oyster) . 16238 is YG with fluted bezel and YG bracelet . 116139 is WG on leather band . 116334 is DJ II SS with WG bezel ... 31MM lady DJ model is build using the same scheme with 1st digits being 1782 or 782 depending on the year. Ex: 178238 , 78235 ... |

Hopefully this helps:
1. What is the model number for a 36mm TT (SS and Gold) DJ with Jubilee bracelet with a white Jubilee diamond dial? 116233 I'm assuming you are referring to the yellow gold/stainless steel two-tone. Also, the 2011/12 catalog only offers a silver jubilee diamond dial for this model, not white. It does offer a white diamond dial (non-Jubilee). 2. What would be the model number for 31mm version? 178273 Again, I'm assuming you are referring to the yellow gold/stainless steel two-tone. Same as the 36mm version, the 2011/12 catalog only offers a silver jubilee diamond dial for this model, not white. It does offer a white m.o.p and silver diamond dial (non-Jubilee). A good source for a visual reference of Rolex models: http://www.swissluxury.com/ To view the latest dials for the entire Rolex line: http://www.oysterworld.de/dials-bracelets.html Cheers! |

Thanks both!! Very very helpful!!
Christophe, thanks very much, that is really easy now with your reference! Rippin, ah yes, when I said "white" jubilee diamond dial, I must have meant a silver diamond jubilee dial. Really sorry about this. I remember there was a rosy color jubilee dial as well (both in diamond and non-diamond) but I want the silver version. Thanks for the links too! |
