Correct bracelet for a 1984 94010 Snowflake
Good morning!
I recently acquired the below 94010 blue Snowflake dated around 1984, i believe one of the latest, when serial number restarted. It came with a 93150 bracelet with 585 endlinks (?!) and a later service clasp. Bracelet looks like an assembly of various parts... I am wondering what would have been the correct bracelet at the time? A 9315 Tudor? Or a 93150? Thanks for your views! |

Correct, Rolex or Tudor 93150. The later the watch the more likely it would come with a Tudor clasp so 84 is almost certainly Tudor.
I read somewhere (forget where right now) that the 585 end links are shorter and therefore are better across more cases. I have a 585s on my R 93150 I bought NOS 4 years ago across multiple subs (94110/7928) with no issues and frankly I am more confident of that not falling apart than any other vintage or non-vintage bracelet. SO while not period correct, I wear my watches so on NATO or the 93150 it goes.

Thank you Linesiders, that is what I thought.
I have to agree that the 585 fits the case perfectly. Thought it was odd to have 1665 endlinks on a 94010.. Aren't those rarer than the standard 580? I get your point on the 93150, more secure than a period correct 9315. Problem with mine is that some links aren't moving freely, and it feels nothing compared to the one I have on my 1680 (which is the one I actually installed on the 94010 at the moment).. |
