I wonder, how long would a 'brannoo Rolex' would run for if, it was placed somewhere where it would be constantly moving. Fixed, say to an ocean marker buoy or somewhere where it would be in more or less continual motion.
I supposed one of the 'bearings would seize first, but I wondered how long would it take. Rolex must have done the calculation, surely.
Perpetual hmmm...

I read somwhere a definition of eternity as, well, picture a ball bearing the size of the planet Earth, and once every 1 million years a dove flies past and it's wing brushes the ball bearing.
When the ball bearing is totally worn away by the dove's wing...
That's Eternity.

It'd be a pretty old dove I reckon!

Well Frank thats a little bit like asking how long is a piece of string.But I know of at least 3 examples,that have been running for 15 years, without a service.Now not sure if all have been running continually,but one has for sure.

I was hoping for perhaps, something a little more scientific. Do we have any engineering bods with a view.
I have personal knowledge of one watch that has been running for more than 30 years NON-STOP! Still accurate (+1 min per week) NEVER been serviced.
