Real or Not?

Hello everyone!! Could use some help to determine if this watch looks legit. My first omega so it sure what to look for. A private person is selling it and said we could meet at an AD to authenticate but it’s 5 hrs from me. The seller said it’s a 2018 purchase.

Looks real to me. Someone on here just posted a video from Watchfinder comparing this watch to a fake. The fakes are unmistakably good and I would suggest taking a look at the video. Here's a link if you can't find the thread it was posted on.

I saw the video..... that’s why I’m nervous. Can an AD Spot a fake?

How far is he from you? Same 5 hrs? A 10x loupe will expose the lack of finishing and would make it very easy to spot. Can he take a macro pic of dial and movement?

Is it worth the savings when the watch can be had for $4K new from TS on here?

It looks good and omega confirmed the location and serial. Does he have a receipt? Have you logged on to see the master chronometer data?

Never like to see crappy pics in the day and age of digital cameras that all provide decent resolution . Ask for better pics of the case back w the rotor in different positions

An AD could determine if it’s genuine or not, But it would be better if it’s an RSC. Make sure he brings the cards and the RSC would just open it and look at the engraved serial number which should be the same on the card. And by opening it they should easily see if the movement is fake.

Good luck

Check laser cuts of dial under 10x loupe. If fake, you will see there.

That watch looks real. Does the seller have reviews?

The seller does not have reviews( individual seller) but is willing to meet at a boutique to have them authenticate. Do they charge for that?

Should be no charge, and meeting at boutique is great as it means you can take a loop to verify the dial details and movement bits.

With all due respect, these are not hard to find. Why this watch from a seller 5 hours away?

I'm in agreement here. I paid $4K new from TS. Why bother with the risk.

Fake showed by the Watchfinder is dangerous only if you disregard a basic due dilligance.

Read this to learn more how to identify this fake in easy ways.
omegaforums(dot)net/threads/this-fake-omega-seamaster-is-unbelievable-watchfinder-co.107853/

Movement on the 3rd photo is genuine Omega movement.
Combination of watch reference number + watch serial + METAS code returns a correct METAS results (I just checked it).

Make sure to check serial on the movement is the same as serial on cards and you are good to go.

As has been said, easy to confirm a genuine dial with a loupe if it is worth the trip.

I was just about to reply but then read your comment. The movement pic is blurry but looks good to me (has a few things I check out on these new movements and it all checks out).

Plus the METAS card with all the watch info, and the fact that it is registering the correct info when you test it on the Omega site makes it pretty sure its legit. Again, its not my money and I have no skin in the game, but I would good with it.
