Maybe, they stopped making the Sea Dweller not to long ago. Or on the other hand they could design a different verison of the watch.

I think the decision is just temporary, from information I received at a local AD, no more will be produced until at least February 2010. Striclty "what I heard"...don't take it to the bank.

Do you mean the 16600 Sea Dweller?

I don't see why they would discontinue the Sea Dweller Deep Sea since it's very new.

I called Rolex HQ in Geneva earlier this year - the official line is the Sea Dweller 16600 has officially been discontinued and replaced by the Sea Dweller Deep Sea 116600.

No more Sea Dwellers 16600 will be produced.

Can you imagine the future potential value of the Deep Sea if it ends up as a 2 year wonder with a somewhat limited offering ?

It is my understanding that in the Rolex world " RARE often means $$$$ " especially if the models are SS and sport watches.

Just what I was thinking!

If I were a selfish soul, I would pray for the SDDS to be discontinued so quickly

Never gonna happen mind
