Refinished dial
Hi experts,
I have am going to buy my first vintag rolex and need some advice. The watch has a refinished dial and I am wondering is that original and ok to go ahead to buy it? |

It has ended.
The dial is the key to the watch, everyone see's it first. Having one that has not be refinished would be a excellent choice. When the dial is refinished it is OK if you do not mind the lower value of the watch. Some Rolex dials cannot be replaced due to age and a refinished dial is the only way to go, then you have levels of refinished dials, ones that are valued in the thousands and are top quality finish, and then you have the not so top quality finish and the dials shows it. |

Apologies if this is outside the scope of your original post, but can one of the knowledgeable members help me with some details I noticed (and question)? Does the serial # seem right (is it too high)? Refinished dial...maybe, but doesn't the crown on the dial seem out of place"? Again...hopefully any info you gain will help with your purchase decision. dlw

Doesnt the auction clearly state the dial is redone? i have no problem with this... i wouldnt buy it, but its clear. its not like he added "Lady Ranger" or anything. harry
