Princetonwatches.com
Hello all:
I was just wondering, is princetonwatches.com a reliable site? Has anyone here heard of them before? I picked out a nice victorinox swiss army watch, and they seem to have great prices, sometimes nearly 50 percent off. They also state they are authorized swiss army dealers. IS this true? Thanks much. BTW, I sold the watch in my avatar and am getting the new Two Tone Blue Sub by December, I cannot wait ! |

I've never heard of them either, but they have mixed reviews.

I used Princeton Watches to buy my Citizen dive watch as a backup for scuba diving. They were great. Years later I flooded the dive watch doing a dive to 300 ft. Hard to tell whether it was because of that specifc dive or because I'd done hundreds and hundreds of dives on it through rough aquatic environments and wrecks, but the watch was flooded after that dive. I needed the original receipt to try to get the watch repaired under warranty by Citizen which is local to me. They promptly both emailed and mailed to me a copy of my original receipt even though the transaction was done online a few years prior. I thought that their customer service to me was great. It's my only experience with them, but it was a positive one, and I would use them again if I ever wanted to buy another Citizen watch. The watch flooded a couple of times, but I also admit that I put it through some very rough conditions (rocky beaches, surf, wrecks, cold, depth, etc.). In any case, Princeton Watches seemed a legit internet retailer to me. Good luck!

Seriously knappo, have you ever read my threads and even noticed my join date? I have better things to do in my life than troll a watch board. I believe an apology from you is in order.

And btw, read carefully, I said I picked out a watch, not bought it. I ordered it tonight after reading the positive post from liuk3.

Let's play nice. The OP just asked a simple question.

Btw..are you a mod? My question on this section is to find out if I should watch out for this website as a bad site to do business with. You are grasping at straws here ! Let it end...

It's in the watchout because he wasn't sure if the site was legit or not.
Either way, hope you have a smooth transaction. Let us know how it turns out! |

Are saying that you know of a watchmaker who will do the testing for free as it would be cost prohibitive to test before every dive?

I'm not really sure why you keep responding. You posted in the wrong section and it was moved. I said nothing to no one. I see you got your answer, great. Hope your watch finds you in good health.

Probably not for free, but probably cheaper than replacing it or the cost to fix it after it comes in full of water. The things that need to be checked are the back gasket, the case tube gasket, if there is a crystal gasket check that as well.
