Thoughts on The Code 11.59 Perpetual Calendar (Aventurine Dial)

Hey watch enthusiasts,

I've been offered the opportunity to purchase the AP Code 11.59 Perpetual Calendar with aventurine dial.

I'm still on the fence with this piece, as it's a lot of money, but I do like the watch a lot. So, I would like to hear some opinions from the members of this forum to make a decision.

Now, I know there's a ton of hates going on for the Code 11.59 line, but I personally find the case structure to be beautiful especially on the more complicated pieces.

What's your thought on this piece?

Love the slimness of the case relative to the chrono 11.59’s. I think it is a unique piece and the one I will pick if I was in the market for a Code.

I would do it.

I think this and the supersonnerie design works wonders on the Codes.

I think this is a watch only if you 100% certain both for looks/function as well as cost/price.
You seem to be uncertain on both and on this watch if you get it wrong then it will be very painful.
So I would say you should pass

Would you buy it if it was overlist on the secondary market ?
I mean would question yourself and ask people again ?
If yes, then don’t buy it.

Then accept the financial ‘loss’ you are going to have, buy it and enjoy it !
If price is stopping you then clearly you do not love the watch that much :)

If there is any Code worth buying, it has to be this one.

If you feel the watch is special enough to change your name to offthewaitlist then get it! I kid, but somewhat serious about the sentiment.

FWIW, I always find my code interesting in the watches box, but boring by middle of the day or end of day.

Thoughts on The Code 11.59 Perpetual Calendar (Aventurine Dial)

They are beautiful. I’ve had mine for two years and it’s always nice to wear, whether dressed up or with shorts. The dial is just incredible to look at and it’s the watch that I consistently get the most comments on out of all my APs (not that that should matter).

It’s a decent chunk of change but AP QPs are a lot and you’re getting a very well finished movement and case

The price is high and it might not have value retention but if you really love it, go for it.

I would acquire if I can bundle with some RO such as 15202OR or 26239OR/26331OR.

This aventurine code is considered a hot reference. Most people will be delighted just to get an opportunity to buy this from boutique. You may be able to ask for 15500st non-blue dial at best IMO.

What do you like about the watch? If its just because of the aventurine dial there are much better ones for that like ALS Saxionia Copper Blue though its a dress watch

I think it's beautiful! Totally blown away by the aventurine dial in person, especially under natural sunlight.

How so? I have not seen the ALS in person, but I did try the Code and thought it was awesome. ALS pictures looks nice, but don't really blow me away.

Definitely my favorite code but NOT for 90k, so many better AP options at this price

Thanks for the feedback guys!

Mind is made up. Love this piece, and will even get a fabric strap to go with it.

Beautiful, with a bit of sticker shock at 90k.

I'd do it for sure since it's super rare not easy to come. i know many AP fans might not like Code, but like you've mentioned that the case structure is not easy to make and you could definitely see the details and the beauty that AP has put into it.

This question should be moved to the "is this a good investment" section of the forum

Stocks are always better investments than watches.

Congrats!! And Kevlar is the way to go on the Codes... mine looks so much better than with the Alligator strap.

Where did the OP ask if it's a good investment?

The best aventurine dial i have ever seen was on the ALS lange 1 mini. Also before you buy this watch be aware that the crown is not equidistant on the case. It sits low. This bugged me about this watch, enough to not want to buy it.

What do you mean by it sits low? I can’t seem to see it. What am I missing?
