Ultrasonic cleaners
For those of you that use ultra sonic cleaner for your bracelets...what soap/chemical/"stuff" do you all use in the machine water??
I keep my bracelets sparkling but I am reading so much about dirt on the inside causing stretch I'm going to pick a cheap one up. Thanks. |

I use dish washing soap.
I'm thinking about picking up a jewelry steam cleaner. Supposed to be even better. Look into it

L&R solutions available at any watchmaker supply store. It's what many pros use.

At my school we use a mix of three liquids, there's a portion of amonia, two portions of Mr. Clean (or soap, they use the brand Fantastic which is just a regular cleaning soap à la Windex) and three portions of water (no matter what's the quantity you want to have, those would be the portions).

If you ever taste it let me know, I'd rather not give it a try first...

Are they much better than just using soap and water?

When I worked in a coffee shop I used to clean my jewelery with the espresso steam nozzle. If you have a mini one in your house, put bracelet in some water and just blast it. It will be HOT so remove with caution, but that would do a great job at getting the gunk out. I will caveat and say that I did get a Ultrasonic cleaner in the mail yesterday on recommendation from MJ and I'm excited to use it. I am also amazed at how my Rolex is STILL shining from the Veraet that I used the other day, WOW.
This is the one I got, came with raving reviews.
