One owner, lots of wrist time, except the last 10 years. Spent the first years of its life in the RVN. I love it. New crystal, and MAYBE an insert if I can find a nice faded one.Probably keep this one. Thanks for the compliments fellas!

Lots of history with that watch, and I too wonder the stories it can tell. Do you know anythnig else, like what happened to the insert? I appreciate you posting the pics and showing us.

The safest place for your watch is on your wrist.

They will be saved, kept.I doubt the insert will be changed. If I cant find one exactly like the original, sans holes,it stays.
Thanks!

Try your AD's watchmaker if they have one. Sometimes you get lucky. Fat font inserts are findable but a bit pricey.

My watchmaker has a nice faded insert from his gmt(Circa 1969)..didnt look closely enough.Ive seen it,looks faded just right, but did not actually notice if it was fat font or not.I'll have to check. If anyone else here on TRF has a suitable original one,Im all ears!

Inserts pop up now and then on VRM. Plan to send $300 or so for a nice one.

My 1675 and my 16753 with nice faded FF inserts....bought with patience from trusted sellers from VRM

Beautiful!
My watchmaker actually has a much more faded insert(Almost as faded out as mine)
that would be the idea for me.Replacing mine, with the closest thing I can find, just sans holes.
Cheers!

I understand why Rolex chose to use unicolor bezels, but the bi-color bezels add an extra function. The GMT is a busy watch anyway, might as well go all out
