Which BLNR? “New” or “Old”
Looking into getting a BLNR gmt and I’m interested in the forum’s opinions. Also I am currently bored.
The debate is between the 116710BLNR and 126710BLNR, both on oyster, however I wouldn’t mind having a jubilee bracelet to swap in. All (slight) differences considered, the movements, alleged case differences, longer minute hand etc Which one would you choose and why? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

If you want Jubilee as (easy) option, then it's the 126710, as 116710 never came with that option.

I think the new one has longer power reserve, if that is the case then the newer one.

Both will fit a jubilee if you’re buying it on oyster and getting a jubilee after. I would buy whatever is cheaper if you’re buying from a grey dealer, but only if it’s at least 2k cheaper as you may need a service depending on age.
I might be on the outside, but i don’t particularly care about power reserves in simple watches. I would buy whatever is in the best shape at the best price. Obviously the newer version from the AD would be the best option if available. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I have a BLNR from 2016. If I could, I’d upgrade for the better movement. Cheers.

The newer 32 series movements have real issues with low amplitude, I have experienced it twice now myself. Until Rolex acknowledges and fixes the problem I’d stick with the older and proven reliable 31 series movements |

Always admired the original. My wife surprised me with the newer BLNR on jubilee and I must say it’s better than I ever thought it could be. The jubilee really dresses it up and is extremely comfortable. It actually looks a little more distinguished to me than most Rolex sports watches (almost all of which sport the oyster). Historically I believe the original GMT was available on a jubilee so the new bracelet doesn’t break any precedents.
As for the other upgrades: who wouldn’t want more power reserve, better shock absorption, and a more modern escapement? I’m a fan of the longer minute hand and the small crown between Swiss and made. Given the rather negligible price difference I think the newer watch is the better value. NM |

Newer model for that comfy, less scratch prone, and different (for a sports model) jubilee bracelet. This will be my next or a pepsi on jubilee. Aesthetically, I like batman, but historically, I lean toward pepsi.

to any current owners of the 'new' BLNR reference on jubilee: is there an AR coating under the sapphire crystal? i'm on the 'list' for one (or so i think, lol) and would prefer if it had the AR coating. thanks.

I’ve got a 2019 BLNR on Jubilee with the newer movement so 70 hour PR. Unfortunately, it doesn’t have AR coating on the underside of the crystal. It’s really noticeable when comparing with my 2021 no date sub that does have AR coating. Perhaps the new 2021 GMTs do, but I couldn’t see anything on the Rolex website about it. Thanks for the feedback! Seems like it’s kinda split with the new having a slight advantage which is a little surprising
Just to be clear I am most like going for oyster no matter what reference Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I wouldn't have a drastic preference, but probably the 116710 for the movement.
