(Size comparison) How is the Royal Oak 37mm VS 5711, 5712, & Daytona...??
"Hi guys...."
Need your help on size comparison.... I might have an opportunity of getting a Audemars Piguet Royal Oak 15550 37mm..... So my question is how the size compare to the Patek Nautilus 5711, 5712 or Rolex Daytona 40mm....?? I heard the Royal Oak 15550 37mm wear bigger than 37mm.... Is that true...?? I feel like the Royal Oak 15500 41mm is too big and in your face style....lol.... BTW my wrist size is estimate anywhere about 7inch to 7.20inch..... Please post some pictures if you have both Royal Oak 37mm vs Nautilus 5711 or 5712 or Rolex Daytona 40mm or any Rolex.... and tell me your wrist size.... Thanks for your help and opinion....

It's going to be a bit smaller than then 5711 and about the same as a 40mm Daytona or 5 digit sub.

I was dead certain that 37mm would be the perfect Royal Oak size for me, until I went to the boutique and tried it on.
I would recommend trying the 37mm on before purchasing, it will be perfect for many people but felt a bit too small in comparison to my overall physique rather than wrist size itself. |

here's a daytona compared to a 15450. looks roughly the same even with the rose gold daytona having a bigger case than the other variants

No science behind this but I feel the RO’s wear slightly large, so maybe the 37 wears more like a 38 and my Daytona definitely wears smaller so more like a 39 than a 40. 5711 also wears small too me too.
So as I said no science but my guess is a 38 v 39. |

With your 7”+ wrist, I would rather go for 41mm.

Size is personal preference. I have 6.6"-6.75" wrist, I wear AP RO from 36mm (14790) to 41mm (15500) and love them all.

My wrist is about the same size as yours and I've tried the 15450 several times. Always found that it looks like a kid's watch on my wrist (I'm used to BLNR, Speedy or 41mm RO/ROC).
My wife has both a 15450 and Daytona, but I'm not sure I can get the bracelet across my hand to take pictures - will try later. |

Th 37mm RO looks great on smaller wrists, but for 7"+ I'd got for 39 or 41mm. |

Agreed. I tried on a 26315ST last year and wanted to love it/buy it on the spot but I could barely get it onto my wrist and it just looked way too small for my 7.25" wrist. Smallest watch I can get away with is a Daytona but prefer my watches to be in the 40-44mm range to look right on me. Cetainly feel that my 43mm ROO and 41mm RO work just fine for me. |

I have 6.5 inch wrist but I like the 41mm RO. The 37mm bracelet tapers too much.

In addition to your wrist size, it also depends on the shape of your wrist. My wrist is only 6.5", but I've been blessed with very flat wrists so the 41mm RO models wear very well on me, whereas 39mm and under looks small on me.
I've attached a picture of my 15400 on my wrist, but if you're able to try on the different sizes in person, that would be your best bet. |

Hi Brabus
I have a 7 inch wrist and the 37mm feels small when I tried at the boutique. Not sure if the one i tried is sized but I can't close the clasp comfortably so might need 1 more link. In the end, I went for the 41mm Attached pic is the 37mm on me. Sent from my SM-S906E using Tapatalk |

Congrats on the opportunity for the 15550! Agree that it wears smaller than a 5711 and about the same as a Daytona.

It depends on a lot of things
One thing people don't mentioned much is the color of the dial: Darker dial ROs will draw attention to a smaller surface area, making it appear smaller. White/silver dial ROs will pull attention out throughout the dial AND bezel, making it seem larger Also, don't be drawn in by pics from people with a 7 inch wrist, saying it fits them fine. Pics from the top will always seem that way on them, but often the lugs hang far over the wrist, so the 41mm RO won't be as snug on them. Pics are deceitful, so do your best to try one on irl |

If you decide to go for 37mm, you will need 2-3 extra links to add on to the bracelet for your 7”+ wrist.

Kind of surprise & disappoint that it would need an extra 2 or 3 links for a 37mm watch...... How much each link cost.....?? On a Rolex 36mm, I would had to take off 1 link for my 7inch wrist......

Not sure if this is any help. Agree it depends on wrist shape as much as size. On my skinny (but flat) wrists the 41 ROC wears slightly bigger across (lug-to-lug) than my Daytona, GMT or Nautilus. The new 50th models wear even larger given the added case thickness. But the 38 ROC’s I feel are a little small. It’s all a matter of preference (and what your AD deems fit to allocate for you).IMG_8544.jpg

In this thread, I have seen pictures where the watches look really bad, very disproportionate, in short, very big.

I have about 6.5 in wrist and love noth my 116500ln daytona and 15450 37mm royal oak. Both feel to be perfect size for me. But if yours are over 7" then I think they'll be too small.

I have 6.3inch (relatively flat) wrists and here are my 41mm ROC and ROs, and I love the fit. The Royal oak design is sharp and recognizable, and works perfectly with larger case sizes.
FWIW, I’ve asked my sales rep to let me try on a 37mm, and she flat out told me she is not going to sell me a 37mm as she finds it to small for me. *shrug* but not that I’m complaining though… Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
