Is this real? White dial GMT II
http://cgi.ebay.com/Vintage-Rolex-GM...t=Wristwatches
I've never seen one before. I've seen the Explorer two with a white dial, but not a GMT |

It says 'white GMT custom dial'
So it is franakenised. The 16750 never had a white dial. The first 16750 had a matt black dial in 1980 and then switched in about 1981 to a gloss dial with smaller hour markers which white gold surround.

This is absolutely a franken. Too bad, I'm sure it started out as a nice watch.

I believe the real white dialed GMT's were originally made for Pan AM ground crew in the 50's ..... I have only seen pictures of them in books.
This one is ..... well ... garbage. |

6542 had no crown guards. The one Paul linked from eBay is a 16750. That reference was not made with a white dial.
