TT blue sub

The TT blue sub was introduced in 1983. So it has been out for 22 years.

Now I have a confession to make. I sometimes wonder if I should have gone with the black face instead of the blue. My main concern is that the TT blue sub may one day look dated, where black is pretty much timeless.

But if the watch has been around for 22 years and is still popular, at what point does it become a classic (so to speak) in its own right?

I love the watch and have seen some older models where the blue has a different shade. But the new ones have such a dark blue hue to it it almost does look black in certain lights.

Some say the TT DJ fluted bezel, jubillee band, stick marker dial looks dated. But it has been around so long it is a classic. I do not think it could ever look dated, just timeless. Can the same be said of the TT blue sub?

My question is, does the TT blue sub seem a bit dated because of the color, or do you think it has become "a classic."
