TT blue sub
The TT blue sub was introduced in 1983. So it has been out for 22 years.
Now I have a confession to make. I sometimes wonder if I should have gone with the black face instead of the blue. My main concern is that the TT blue sub may one day look dated, where black is pretty much timeless. But if the watch has been around for 22 years and is still popular, at what point does it become a classic (so to speak) in its own right? I love the watch and have seen some older models where the blue has a different shade. But the new ones have such a dark blue hue to it it almost does look black in certain lights. Some say the TT DJ fluted bezel, jubillee band, stick marker dial looks dated. But it has been around so long it is a classic. I do not think it could ever look dated, just timeless. Can the same be said of the TT blue sub? My question is, does the TT blue sub seem a bit dated because of the color, or do you think it has become "a classic." |

Well in the TT Subs myself prefer the blue dial, think it makes it stand
out from the crowd of subs, and clones with the black dial.

The TT blue Sub is timeless and will always remain as one of my all time favourites. Believe me, if I didn't have to finance my next TT Blue watch (the YM), I would have held on to mine. I still miss it dearly....
...but on the brighter side, I moved to I'm sure a better looking bezel and overall gorgeous looking watch!!

The guys that know me, know that I had this watch and also sold it off, to get the YM. But I think that this is one of the Rolex, like most of them, that will always be in style and a icon to own.
I think this is such a classy and sporty watch that you can't go wrong owning it. Enjoy it Mark, that is a great watch that compliments your collection quite well mate.

Thanks for the input guys. I love it, just wondered if the blue would look dated after so many years.
But then again, even if it did, I'd still wear it proudly. I was told yesterday that the TT blue sub is one of the most popular sports models here in Japan. (The kermt sub and SS Daytona also being highly sought after) |
