DJ41 Silver or Black smooth bezel
As the title says, what is everyone’s,thoughts on the silver face against the black. Personally think the silver is more dressy, whereas black maybe more sporty.

Black for me, as I prefer the contrast between the hour markers and coronet against a black dial

That’s what I prefer, looks more classic. Like Sub in black, but not so much in the more dress watches.

Both black and silver are super versatile and can be dressy and/or sporty. I would say the silver would be a touch more dressy. Hard decision, if I had other black dial sport watches I would go silver no question. Black's legibility cant be beat though.

Do you have any other watches and if so, what are the dial colors?

I also considered these two choices when I bought my DJ 36 in January. I ended up getting the silver. It is stunning. I am considering getting a black dial with roman numerals as my next watch.

Black is for Subs. Go white or silver on a DJ.

I almost played it safe I thought and went for silver but changed my mind the next day and went a little out of the box for a wimbledon. I love both but thinking the black is a perfect gada piece. I have a collection of 20 so of course mostly black dials but a DJ41 black dial on oyster, smooth bezel would be a tough one to pass on.

If it's just between black and silver, I would probably go silver -- but they both are stunning! You might also want white. I just purchased a white Datejust 36 as my first Rolex after much deliberation. They say the white dial has the best legibility/contrast -- and it's even better with the Datejust 41, as it's available with the stick/baton markers that give you lume in low light.
