New addition to the family GMT 16753

Hi guys just added this 16753 to the collections
Unfortunately the dial hands and bezel where replaced by Rolex in a service in 2017 there is quite a bit of stretch on the bracelet but is to be expected from a 1969/70 watch …
I always been a big fan of this model I just love how this watch screams 70s..
Hope it was a good buy ..

Because so many parts have been switched out in the service it obviously affects the value which hopefully got passed on to you when buying it. And as you say it definitely screams of the 70’s

I like it but I am biased…
I like the applied crown. Probably has working lume too, which is also a definite benefit. Old style charm that functions as it should. I had rolliworks.com tighten up the bracelet on mine, also a 14K trim oval link—and very comfortable!

I agree the working lume working is a plus, but on the other hand is a shame that they replace quite a bit of what makes this models so unique in the color variations with age

I think you nailed it in post #4. As long as the price reflects the current condition—it is a handsome watch!

One thing I did do was switch out the end links for the Swiss version 450 J end links as they fit much better than those that came on the American-made oval link bracelet. They fit very tight now and don't rotate around and jangle as much. Definitely a Franken addition but I did keep the originals so they can be reattached if necessary. 450s do turn up occasionally for a good price on EBAY (like such https://www.ebay.com/itm/126073775811) . Purists will frown on this modification but definitely made it more wearable for me IMHO.
