Someone earlier in the thread commented it was thick and that was a negative.

Like you, for awhile I debated picking up a 116500LN, but decided to go for the 4500V (I have other Rolex sport watches in my collection already). I already own a RO so the overseas is a nice change of pace.

Good mix.

The question does not specify the usage. Daily or occasional?
AP/VC are beautiful watches with very neat visible movements. But for the first one it doesn't have the reputation of being reliable, not to mention the scratch-catching aspect.
The same thing for the VC (exposed polished bezel for example), while being built a little more robust (fewer customer returns it seems).
It's part of the life of a watch but you just have to be aware that on a day to day basis, it doesn't beat the reliability, materials and concept of a Rolex...

For me "Holy Trinity" are fragile watches.
It's like a beautiful woman who turns all heads, but once in the room and on the subject it's not worth much !

So who wins?
There are no winners for me. It depends on the factors, but Rolex is Rolex.

Personally I’m biased and would go for a Lange but out of your choices anything from a holy trinity maker over any Rolex without question or hesitation every single time

Except getting caught in the rain. Playing with pets or children. Moving a box and bumping on the wall. Washing your hands too quickly. Service costs. Service times. Etc.

Depends on how big the collection is I think.

VC Overseas isn’t desirable and definitely not holy trinity.

Daytona is an epic durable “any occasion” timepiece

I own a AP ST. It’s a very delicate watch with lots of sharp edges allied to exquisite polishing which simply isn’t apt for daily life. That is of course unless you don’t care about wearing a rapidly beat-up and visibly decrepit timepiece.

In short. VC overseas isn’t in the running. An AP RO on bracelet is a scratch/scuff magnate. The Daytona is the do-it-all timepiece held in high regard in most circles.

I follow and value HL65 (K) advise. I know he is, like others, a watch connoisseur, so I have stayed within the Rolex brand lineup since to me as tool watches are very reliable and hold their value better.
So Daytona it is !
