Shoulda, woulda, coulda… You did the right thing. Why would anyone spend that kind of money on a watch they didn’t love? You should have no regrets! I hope you get the one you want.

Two-tone Daytonas don't appear to be hard to get from ADs any more.
You made the right call. |

My AD had a two tone with the black diamond dial two weeks ago. I had been looking for a stainless Daytona, but this version is a lot dressier and there’s something to be said for that, for wearing at events where I have to be dressed up. So I’m happy I took it even as it’s not the Daytona I’d asked about.
These seem to be selling for a 40% premium, and even if that drops, these two tone Daytonas don’t seem like anything that would lose money, should you want to sell one. But I agree with the others who said you should not buy it if the cost was a stress and it’s not the one model you want. Better to wait then. But if you have the funds, it’s a cool look too. |

Don’t buy a watch you don’t love just for the sake of buying it. You did the right thing.
Years ago, I went to the Rolex shop at the Wynn in Las Vegas, and to my surprise they had a TT white dial Daytona for sale. I tried it on, but I didn’t love it, so I passed. Even as secondary market prices shot way up since then, I stand by my decision. I know that there’s someone out there who totally loves that watch. Perhaps the one you want is being passed over right now by someone else with the opportunity to buy it, for the same reason. |

Was offered the exact same watch and configuration in December. I was on the list for the black dial version so 8 passed. I was tempted but If it's not what you want why but it.

No. Nobody turns down a steel Daytona nowadays. Nobody. Hence, it was obvious that it was NOT about a stainless steel version.

Love my TT Daytona with white face, but I bought it grey and saved some cash versus buying via an AD. Don't buy what you don't want.
