I think the DD40 is like 0.5mm smaller than the DJ41, so pretty damn near the same size

I have one and it's definitely not 41mm.

Yes, that’s what I have read on this forum countless times. I don’t have calipers. So I never measured mine, but my DJ41 wears much smaller and lighter compared to my Submariner and Seamaster.

In honor of this thread, I think I’ll wear my DJ41 today.

Not my picture but I can throw calipers on mine also if you like. When I've tried it I get roughly the same as below.

Yup, measured my DJ41 the other day and it was 39.4

Weird...
Understandable! the the 41 will definitely appear bigger because you now enjoy wearing 40, It's a matter of preference IMO.

I am also of the belief that DDs, DJs and OPs all look better in 36 than 40/41.

I agree with you on the proportions. Now that i've had the DD40 for a while now, when looking at the fluted bezel on the DJ41, it is just ever so slightly too thick in my opinion. If you look at it long enough, the bezel just seems a little overpowering...if that makes sense. lol.
