Vacation watch
We leave for a long awaited family vacation soon, hard to believe it’s been 7 yrs since we went anywhere tropical! From getting married + 2 kids + building my business + throw COVID in there and boom, here we are. Time to use some travel points
My first and only choice for the trip is my SLA037, it’ll be with me from buffets to beaches to diners out and everything in between Anyone else have an easy choice for their vacation watch? |

Glad you and family are getting a tropical vacation Wayne! Where are you going?
I’ve taken my SLA037 to Hawaii a few times and loved it on those trips. Brought various straps to change it up. Interestingly, I was in Belize last week and took the new SJE093 with me on that trip. It ended up boring me. I’m more a fan of the 037 now. Enjoy it on your trip! |

Have a blast!! For me it’s my Luminox diver when I’m going to Mexico, the Dominican Republic, or anywhere else I’m not wanting to wear something expensive.

I will advise you pay close attention to your watches during trips, these days you attract thief’s by just living your life. Have a great time with the family.

Great choice and enjoy the vacation.
Somewhat similar, I typically bring the BB58 Blue + a G Shock on tropical/beach type vacations. |

If it's a beach/dive trip, usually G-Shock or Casio Pro-Trek (with moon and tide chart) and MAYBE the Tudor FXD, depending on location.
If it is land based, usually the G-Shock and the Speedmaster on sailcloth. Work trip: Speedmaster on bracelet or Shinola Monster (we are Detroit based)and square G-Shock Moral of the story is.......Never leave home without a G-Shock! |

Great watch choice. Enjoy your family time, it’s what we’ve all worked for.
Last time we were there ocean swimming was not recommended due to rip tides. Those waves rolling in were no joke. Fun to watch but not for frolicking. It’s such a beautiful warm place, enjoy. |

I could use any of my watches as a vacation watch. It depends on where I’m going. The only rule I have is that I don’t bring more than one.
I just took this one on a mini vacation to Clearwater / St Petersburg, FL. Sort of ironic because I never left my timezone. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Great thread & you deserve some time away from life's self-imposed stressors, OP. My vacation/beach watch is my Glycine GL0076. It looks just like this, but it's on a James Bond-style NATO. Many beaches, many oceans, a few SCUBA dives.

MRG for me. Took it off immediately on arrival to paraphrase another member -you’re doing it wrong if you’re wearing a watch

Thanks! That's not my pic, btw. My Glycine is in its box not near me when I posted that reply. It was only a few hundred bucks almost seven or so years ago... It's quite slim & rugged, although the aluminum bezel insert has gotten a few scratches & nicks. The watch isn't sentimental or valuable enough for me to care. I don't wear a NATO strap on a daily basis so wearing one while on vacation has a positive Pavlovian effect... NATO = fun times/beach.

We LOVE going to Cancun!
We also have similar aged kids. 6 and 1.5. The resorts are so great for kids. And parents. We actually just back tonight from Disney World. Holy moly. While it had its fun moments, it might be a while until we go back. It was just absolutely packed for spring break. And it was hard on our 1.5 yr old. Enjoy Cancun! I take my BB58 as my vacation watch. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
