Acquiring Sport Watches in Asia ?
I am planning a long trip to Asia. Just curious if there is a chance to acquire steel sport watches (Batman, Daytona, Sub, ...) in Asia, such as Korea, Japan, Thailand, Vietnam?

They aren’t likely to fall all over themselves to sell a popular professional model to a tourist

Grey market Asia (HK/Japan > US)
At an AD. Zero luck compared to the states.

Between HKG and Tokyo, my eperience across the past decade has been that I could purchase any Rolex that I wanted, new or used, grey or AD.
Prior to 2019, same story in Shanghai and Beijing. |

I would say highly unlikely. But why would it be any different to your home market? If you can’t walk into your local AD and get what you want why would it be different in another country?

I think they mean Asia has a larger grey market than the US. You may b3 able to find what you want that way. Most ADs around the world are more likely to cater to local customers. Kat Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

I live in Hong Kong. You will have no chance at an AD. Too many mega rich locals with existing relationships buying everything that comes out. It’s a more popular hobby out here than anywhere else in the world.
But there are more grey dealers than anywhere else. So if you can pay you can play. |

As a visiting foreigner, you have no chance of purchasing a Rolex from an AD in Japan

I am an American citizen, otherwise known as a Foreigner in Asia lingo, but have lived in the Shanghai area for 7 years. You have almost no chance of getting a Rolex sport model from an AD here. Their mission is to serve locals. And there is a lot of money here, so no lack of demand.
Now...if you want to go grey, Hong Kong and Tokyo have almost limitless options. The exchange rate between the USD and Yen is favorable now as well.

Zero chance to get them at the AD as a walk in customer in Asia the steel sport watches you listed. Used watch dealers, the flipper market you can find them but will not be getting them at MSRP prices. |
