there is almost no premium anymore on subs on the secondary market
submariner-shopping is now a much more relaxed issue than a few years ago

This is no BS I walked in my regular local AD on last Thursday and I told him I made a promise I can’t cash I promised a partner a Rolex. He gave me the option to pick a date or no date sub on the spot. I honestly was not expecting that response I chose the no date as it’s my partners first Rolex. What surprised me wasn’t the offer to find me one. It was there were two to choose from. That was cool, again I do have a relationship with that AD.
But there’s mixed emotions on my response to your AD OP it’s normal for some sort of expression on there response. Always respectful of course, as people can inquire without knowing you can’t just walk in anymore for a watch like before. Now in your case, you are on a roll my friend with that many pieces in such a short period plus I agree the premium has gone down tremendously on a SS. They seem to be taking care of you and I doubt you have any problem getting a SS sub. Good luck! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

1. You're buying too many steel watches. Need to try some smaller PM with diamonds.
2. They assume at that pace you're not buying for yourself major red flag. |

I haven’t misunderstood anything, just thought his post was funny. My advice is to find another AD. You should have every right to ask for a Sub, after your current spend. If she rolled her eyes, she probably doesn’t like you. If that’s the case, she won’t get you a Sub. A Sub is not that big of an ask. Go elsewhere, or just buy one from one of our trusted sellers. Good luck! Kat Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

5 watches to get to a Sub? Just buy an unused from the secondary. Lots of great sellers here on the forum

SA rolls her eyes
That’s unfortunate. Subs are easy to get at an AD, especially if you already bought a DJ41.

Nope, I was saying this as it was supposed to be funny hahaha. I detest liars. BTW....I would never be intimated to ask for anything in life that is material, regardless of relationship status or purchasing history. No sense in tippy-toeing around watch/jewelry salespeople. That's also funny in a sad way.

SA rolls her eyes

Who’s begging? You express your interest in buying a watch. If it’s available you buy it. If it’s not you don’t and move on with your life. I have seen the term “beg” “humiliated” and “self-respect” in recent threads all about simply asking after popular watches. Are people’s egos really that fragile? Have people really not experienced not being able to get something they want? |
