Springbar for Pelagos 39

Recently had a double springbar failure on my P39. Yes, it was on a NATO.

Anyway, any thoughts on a beefier option than OEM?

Please tell details. How? Both bars fell apart at same time?
Did you snag on something heavy with a lot of force?
*When I put expensive watch on nato to wear in the ocean I use Marathon brand shoulderless spring bars. They are the toughest. Use wire cutters to remove.
Please give us details.

NATO straps are notorious for compressing flanged spring bars. The Pelagos 39 does not come from factory with NATO (nor is it an option). So it’s not a OEM spring bar failure. It’s user error.

Get flange-less spring bars from Otto Frei or Esslinger in the corresponding size.

Thanks for the suggestions. And yes, I now know that flanged springbars don’t play well with NATO. Also, it was not much force, just the perfect angle of impact to leverage the watch head off.

Not sure if 2mm fits, tho for sure try them. Bet the 1.8mm springbars fit (versus small 1.5mm). As we all know, springbars are very disposable items.

PS: These things happen, i've almost lost a couple timepieces over the years due to 'that perfect angle / pressure' and then POP there it goes.

There's a company on ebay that sells all sorts and sizes of springbars. Best source I've found since Toxic has gone away. Measure yours (especially the tip...if you've still got the OEM bars) and search ebay...seller is "outletgoods".

Thanks!! And yes, I still have both springbars. It was like finding a needle in a haystack, but I got lucky. I’ll measure them today.
