Which 20k Chrono? TT Daytona or all gold Speedy on strap ?
So I’ve been saving for a 126503 two tone for a while. Not quite there, but soon. I get two tone is polarizing but I like it. I prefer the white dial as posted in the pic, but that’s not really important. I’m confident I can get it at my AD. Price after tax, 20k.
Recently though I tried on the moonshine speedy on rubber. I loved it as well. I can get this pretty much brand new pre owned for .. you guessed it … 20k. That Omega certainly represents better “value” (highly discounted off retail compared to RRP plus tax for the Rolex. It’s an amazing watch but I plan on getting the white dial SS as well AND I currently have a 3861 sapphire black dial. Do you guys feel it would be foolish to not select the “all gold” piece ? Truth be told , my heart still says Daytona, but that logic thing is trying to pull me the other way. Thoughts ? The omega is on my wrist, the Rolex pic courtesy of “a blog to watch”. Personally I think the two tone Daytona is better looking, but the question is do you plan to use the chrono function much?
I used the chrono function all the time when I would daily my Speedy, and it’s easy as you don’t have to unscrew the pushers. That said, I never went swimming with it. The Rolex has better water resistance and in my opinion, a better size as it’s a bit smaller. But more of a pain to use the pushers and intended chrono function. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I would take that Speedy over that Daytona any day, especially at the same price. I’m not much of a gold guy but that has some real understated elegance.

The problem with the two tone daytonas (and the full gold ones) is the bezel is a massive scratch magnet. They look ok new but look rough as guts after not much wear. I'd take the speedy in this instance.
Also worth a look - I saw a full rose gold (with bracelet) current model Navitimer go for under 20k on MODA. Great value there. |

Daytona FYI fact:
You don’t have to keep the Daytona pushers screwed in ever. They have nothing to do with its WR. Even when the pushers are unscrewed, the Daytona has a higher WR than the Speedy.

The chrono start stop on the moon watch is not a column wheel and jerks to start when timing. Also doesn’t feel as smooth as the Daytona. Looks wise the omega looks better of the 2 but I bet the Daytona would be more comfortable

I have owned a speedy (not gold) and OWN a Daytona. I would say Daytona 10/10 times. The case and fit is better. Water resistance is great. It has the wearability and a bracelet. I don't think the gold bezel is as fragile as people make it out to be. Follow you heart.

A gold Speedy is just so amazing on the wrist. I had never considered one until I tried a Canopus gold one at an OB. I became obsessed with it and hunted one down preowned at a substantial discount. The secondhand prices on these gold Speedys make it an easy decision. Get the Speedy.

Speedy over the two tone Daytona any day. Not a fan of the two tone Daytona. That speedy is stunning! No question in my book

Which 20k Chrono? TT Daytona or all gold Speedy on strap ?
The Omega’s MSRP in the US is at $32.4K before tax, and you can get almost-new at $20k. Wow.
Anyway, while it’s a really nice watch and a great deal, if your heart is with the Daytona, that’s what I’d buy. And truth be told, if we are talking gold Speedmaster on strap, I think I prefer the Sedna gold version to this one. I think the champagne dial looks best on the all gold bracelet. |

Didn't realize how much of a deal gold speedys are. Seems like an enjoyable stealthy piece to wear.

The TT daytona is stunning. Leagues ahead of the speedmaster. Not even remotely close.

Without a doubt the moonshine Speedy! I have it on bracelet and I love it. I would also never consider a TT Daytona. Either SS or full gold always for me but to each his own. I own plenty of Daytona’s and Speedy’s and I enjoy all of them.

The TT Daytona is ugly. Speedmaster only in FG, Rubber doesn't look nice. Daytona only is SS,FG, or OF. Speedmaster only SS, and FG in my opinion.

If you can make it a stretch and get the full gold Speedy on bracelet, that's the way to go.

I have owned several TT Daytona's and they are nice watches. Not a huge TT fan but some models do have a cool 70's-80's vibe to them. I have sold my two SS Daytona-C's and beyond the hype of being a Daytona, which does impact me, I find numerous other watches to be better wearing and looking. Topping the list is the Omega Speedmaster Professional. Fits better for me and I can read the dial and sub-dials. I can also get one without playing games and they look great on straps. With that said, the Daytona is the Daytona, and icon. I get it. Several of our Trusted Sellers have PM Omegas sub 20k on a strap. That would be the way I would go. To me, it is more of a watch, minus the hype, than the Daytona. A lot has to do with personal preference but that is what the watch game is. Good luck and let us know what you decide.

The dial on the Omega is a clear winner for me

I agree the answer is whether you will ever use the chronograph function. Most people do not and it is simply a matter of look and taste. The Omega to me has the better chronograph functioning with push only pushers and much better subdual legibility.

To be honest, if I liked the look and feel of the Omega on the strap, I would just a Daytona on a strap.

Daytona-wise, then i would pursue an 116520 in the 20k range. With the choices you have provided, then i would go for the speedy. That moonshine gold is on a different level
