Would you wear your Rolex to the Beach?

Going to Florida in a few days and going to hit the beaches. Should I wear my DSSD? Wondering if the sand will scratch it. What do you think?

Wear it. I would take my day-date to the beach.

Every day of the week and TWICE on Sunday mate!!!

It will actually disintegrate and turn to dust on your wrist if you DON'T take it on the beach and in the water to seal the molecules together!!

Let me get this right you have one of the toughest Rolex watches made today. And yes they are meant to be tool watches that are used by divers underwater, and many divers today dive from the shore. And as they need to dive in water mostly today seawater the shores in many case will be sand. And yes sand will get on the divers watch, and perhaps they will pick up the odd scratch.Anywhere near sand salt water just wash after in fresh cold water and yes you can get your DSSD wet.Just wear your Rolex in the elements it was designed for, no Rolex Oyster watch needs any sort of pampering.Scratches are a fact of life but easily rectified as part of normal routine service.

My SD lives in the ocean in the summer, and spends holiday in chlorinated pools constantly. It thrives on it! Still looks brand new.

Haha. I just remembered taking my seiko surfing and getting all kinds of sand under the bezel, never came out, grinded every time I turned it but I guess this beast is not seiko!

My Sub LV once got buired in sand by my wife while on my wrist while sleeping on the beach. I gave it a good wash and it was fine. Sand hardly even got under the bezel even the bits that did washed out.

Going to the beach is the only situation that requires action. Wash off with fresh water after you get back. Otherwise....Uh...yeah..it is a dive watch.

At first I thought this was another joke thread....
Then I realized the OP was serious.
I mean, it's called a 'Sea-Dweller' for a reason.

make sure you apply some waterproof sunblock on it before going to beach.
