Lovely faded insert, beautiful watch.

What is the history behind the Al Hassad 5513 if I may ask?

Cool watch. I want one. On second thought...make that two. I would like to know the history as well if you don't mind.

As what i know, this watch was made to the order of former Syrian dictator Hafez Al Assad as he was a Rolex passionist himself,...
As far I was told, only 4 pieces of this 5513 survided along with few 1665 and some other refs which I'm not sure which..

Knowing this dictator was a mass murderer (and like father, like son.....) ruins my ability to appreciate what remains nonetheless a beautiful watch.

Don't blame the watch! A beautiful time piece. You will change its karma. The new bezel insert looks fantastic. Congrats!

LoL, History was my worst subject since junior school... I've never been interested in it, I plainly appreciate the watch, that's it! After all, it's a ROLEX..

Nice watch, eventhough it may have a dictators name on the dial doesnt make the watch responsible for the dictators actions. I bet Saddam Hussien's diamond Rolex Day Date was not responsible for his actions.

"Ghost" inserts are my favorite!

Very unique 5513

The Al-Assad 1665 on Eric Ku's website is also a stunner.
