Icon6 Old Bumper - Seamaster Calendar

Just got this beauty from the past.

With a beautiful Guilloche dial, dauphine hands, arrowhead marker and a funky number of the date.

The plastic is full with deep scratches, but still the Omega sign is there.

No strap, just the head

Put a strap on

Under the direct sunlight

The watch is running perfectly and it's amazing to realize that she's just a 60 years old lady.

I'm so glad you put a plain black leather strap on that. The quintessential gentleman's watch.

Brilliant.

This is the 2627 bumper, same case and movement as your guilloche dial in 14k case with 18k step sided pie-pan dial:

So it is you that become so lucky to have that very beautiful piece of 2627.
I envy you, must've been so proud of having that piece
(Ever thinking of letting it go? )

BTW do you ever replace your hesalite crystal, I think I can use one and any information of locating it would be appreciated.

Hmm I'd tend to just get the existing one repolished, I've never ever actually replaced a plexi, the Speedmaster Pro had a shocking one but half an hour and a lot of toothpaste and its back to new again. Yours IMO is probably salvagable, the Speedy had deeper scratches than that, and now you can't even tell.

I think mine is not only scratched, but cracked as well. I'm afraid if I keep the plexi, the dial might be damaged, sooner or later.

i have a tissot bumper from the late 40s that i love. it will be heading out for a full overhaul and replacement of the crystal soon and it will be away from me for 3-4 months( and thats if no parts have to be replaced/made), but it will be worth it in the end, the dial rattles around a bit now when i wind and set it, so its really beggin for an overhaul at this point. beautiful omega by the way!
