Rolex-Tudor Movement Identification.
Hey guys, I finally was able to find someone who was able to remove the back of the Rolex Tudor watch I have. The results are a little surprising and got my Spider-man senses tingling. A little bit of background information for those of you who didn't see the first post.
Canadian Rolex Tudor watch. Est time of manufacture is 1900-1940's (haven't had a solid lead yet) Grandpa probably bought the watch for no more than five bucks at a garage sale ten to twenty years ago in Canada. Here are the pictures! HELP ME IDENTIFY THIS PLEASE :):) Inside the caseback is says Rolex It is scratched with these numbers B41779 R4925A R10945A This one I am not sure about. 60L4089 61 1?20 The movement says: Tudor Swiss Made 17 Jewels Here are the pictures! That will need some research me-thinks ......
Possibly AOK but certainly unusual
The numbers etched inside the case-back are simply records where watchmakers have serviced it over the years. As an aside - do they still do that ? I've always wondered. Movement's AOK Tudor but unusual to see it secured by the fold-over tabs. Other Tudor watches using the same movement had the usual screw system - see pic The very simple style of Rolex stamping inside the case-back is unfamiliar to me too. Anyone else seen it like that before ? |
