Hi Jerome!!!

I think the reason most people are attracted to Rolex watches is because they like the way they look so having all these photos is really fun to view.

Somebody once said, "There is a big difference between knowing something and understanding it, because you can know a lot about something without understanding it."

The reason I wanted to create this thread is so that we could all get a better and deeper understanding of the modern Rolex Heritage.

The most fascinating thing to me is that this thread already contains the largest collection of famous people wearing Rolex watches on earth and we have been at it for only Four days!!!

Cheers!!!
Jake

Here is another set of Dr. Martin Luther King...

I particularly like this set of pics because they illustrate another facet of Rolex history that is not all fun and games...

Dr. King was indeed a man on a mission. A real mission. No fake product placement super-spy-secret-agent, but a real man standing up not only for what he believes in but also for other people who could not stand up for themselves.

It is profound to think about the fact that Dr. King was wearing his trusted Rolex when he gave his "I have a dream speech." Of course, Dr. King wore a Yellow Gold Rolex Datejust. Dr. King was indeed a King and in many ways in my mind King represents the Crown on the Rolex.

I will always wonder if Dr. King was inspired by his Rolex the way many of us in the forum are. I wonder if he laid in bed at night and watched the light dance, glisten and glimmer off his beautiful Rolex watch...

If I was Rolex, I would put some of these pictures in Rolex adds. You can't get more real than a real hero...

Indeed, it is the ultimate wisdom of the mountains, that a man is never more of a man than when he is reaching for something just out of his grasp...

Sorry Jake. But I highly doubt the watch was on Dr. King's mind, let alone served as an inspiration for him. It's just an instrument for telling time.

Does anyone know how to embed Youtube videos into the thread so you don't have to click on a link? If so, please share how?

I wonder if the Rolex he wore on MV was as fake as the "Daytona Spider" clone they used for the first couple of years?

Hmm, likely gifts from John Mayer when they were dating - I'm not sure she'd figure those out on her own I'm guessing it was a good trade for him

Is this the dude you are looking for?

I am not familiar with Sir Jimmy Saville...must be a British thing...Groovy Baby, Yeah!!!!! Shagadelic!!!!

Oh, I think I get it, he is like the British Mr. T!?!

I hope this is the guy you have been looking for Tony.

I imagine that if he presents himself like that and the Queen calls him Sir, he must be a national treasure.

Enjoy...

Cheers Mate,
Jake

JESSICA SIMPSON: I haven't made up my mind whether or not she's a dumb blonde or an evil genius. Like Paris Hilton. I didn't get it about Paris until I found out they were paying her tens of thousands of dollars to attend these parties and events we hear about.

MIAMI VICE: Bren Ten, Daytona, Versaci. They went to some trouble over "stuff" on that show.

Some days, I feel like I parked my car in the 1980s and can't find my way back to it. But that's another issue . . . .
