5131r-001

Guys,

I was wondering about 5131r comparing to other discountinued references in regards to second market prices which j and g were achieving? Would you think that r will hold that trend? I could not found any around for sale as it is a fresh reference which seems to be very rare, just asking from curiosity about your point of view from exclusivity angle side of it.
I know there are certainly people on this forum who came across (or perhaps own) the R, I would love to know which pm version they prefer

In an ideal world, they would make enough 5131s to fill the demand of collectors/enthusiasts. However they can only make so many due to the time requirement and the shortage of artisans who can paint the enamel dial.

I think it is difficult to estimate the future value of a watch as soon as it is released. But I would estimate it would be similar to the G and J versions.

Others will correct me but I m confident you won t see the R on 2nd hand until next year , regarding the price since the popularity of RG I sure it will hit new records.

I gotta believe the r will be worth less. They used to make the g and j, and now they have focused all their efforts on just the r. So, doesn't that infers there will be twice as many r than j and g?

I have 5131G. One of my most favorite Patek watch. I will never sell it. I do not bother by grey market price. However, I don’t think the price will drop in the second hand market again. The same as 5131R, I will keep it for my next generation if I am lucky to get it from my AD.

5131R is a very nice watch to wear on the wrist. I estimate the grey market will be the same as 5131G. I feel sorry the collector who has allocated 5131R sells his watch to grey market.

afaik , the bottleneck was never the case but the dial manufacturing , there s one lady at pp who creates those masterpieces ,its rarity is organic

might be is just a myth

My understanding is that one made the j and one made the g. Now both will make the r.

The notion that only 1–2 people ar capable of making the dial is laughable. PP is just keeping it that way so it's an exclusive piece. Surely they could bring on more artists.

Prices have softened on G and J quite a bit as of late. I actually think the R will command more and not less. Time will tell but I am quite confident on that.

I'd "assume" values on the R would be the same as on the J and G.
