Question about glidelock clasp

Hi all.
I noticed that my sub c, dated June 2016, has a smooth finish over the rolex engraving on the clasp. In most pictures the finish is glossy. Is this normal?
Thanks in advance!

Smooth is a polished surface. Glossy is like a bead blasted surface

I don't think smooth, or glossy describes my Sub-C.. Maybe they've changed how they finish the clasp?

My two tone sub is polished like yours.

Ya I meant the part with the rolex engraving. Mines a Polish, yours is a rougher finish. Starting to get some doubts about my preowned purchase...

The part with the tweezers. Mine is a smooth, polished surface. On the post before, it's a greyer, matte finish which is definitely different.
My question is whether rolex changed their finishing or do I have a fake on my hands.

I think Rolex changed over to smooth inside clasp sometime in 2016.

Both my Jan 2016 smurf and Sep 2016 blnr have smooth inner clasp.

It's totally normal. Rolex changed to polished sometime ago I think last year. Doesn't mean certain production dates will or won't have polished as Rolex puts the pieces together. Don't fret though your clasp is legit.

You already have your answer, but I'll just note that my 2016 Sub purchased from an AD has a polished inner clasp, like yours. No worries.

You're okay, I had a 114060 and a 116610LN both from 2015-2016 and they both have a shiny mirror finish. The matte finish is from 2015 prior (IIRC) They could have changed half way through 2015 or 2016 but they definitely did change.

You're good to go, enjoy your purchase (unless you have any other doubts that is.)

My 2016 Sub has the smooth finish also (AD purchase). I much prefer the smooth finish!

There have been many threads on this. Yes, Rolex has changed the finish on the clasp.

I liked the "frosted" finish better, but they didn't ask me.

Agreed. Normal but prefer the frosted better. Shows dirt less.

I ordered a Sub Bracelet from my local AD to fit on my GMT2C.

It was ordered Jan 16 and arrived at the AD about six weeks later, new, in the packaging from Rolex.

It has the frosted clasp.
