SD43 in Tokyo, London and Paris

Hi all, I’m a newbie from Hong Kong to this forum as I just got my first Rolex a few months ago (BLNR). It already got me deep in the rolex game as I never expected.

After browsing for a few weeks, I have my eyes on the SD43. Here in Hong Kong, an indefinite wait from AD but I’m travelling to Tokyo, London and Paris in December. Can any member kindly advise the chance of getting the SD43 from ADs in these location? (I think the after tax price in Japan is the cheapest)

I guess walk-in will be just luck. Is it possible to call in advance and make deposit? Is there a long waiting list?

Cheers

I cannot comment on Tokyo or Paris, but I was in London a week ago and none of the ADs in Bond street, nor Heathrow Terminal 5 had the SD43, and I was quoted 3 years waiting list at the ADs in London, and 10 years for a ceramic Daytona

The Rolex boutique at Chek Lap Kok might be your best bet.

If you don’t have any joy on your trip, the most direct way of getting this watch (which is awesome, by the way) is just to get it from a trusted seller on TRF. You can find them for a couple of hundred USD more than list

Thank you! 3 years wait is insane not to mention 10 years for the new daytona

Thank you! Read your post of getting the Hulk and congrats! Price of the Hulk in the past few months was like crazy in Hong Kong market. I will definitely check out with these trusted seller if I have no luck in my trip

Thanks!

The Hulk is a great watch, but localised demand has driven pricing to silly levels. It was trading for “only” HKD74k BNIB from grey sellers as recently as this summer. Then pricing took off sometime in July and hasn’t looked back!

Did not see any new SD available at AD in Paris, perhaps looking at grey market.
Last one I saw was in Turkey, second hand shop for 11K.

I was in Japan late July throughout August around Tokyo....chances at any stainless sports model except maybe Milgauss is almost none...I visited a couple ADs including the new flagship in Ginza (Ginza Six) and they were just filled with gold sports or datejusts. The grey dealers have all the stainless sports models.

London you’ll be lucky to even get a SS Sub if it’s anything like the north of the UK.

You’ll see plenty of everything at preowned stores but expect to pay way over list price.

Agreed. I live in Tokyo and have visited several ADs here in the last month and haven’t seen any SS sports models other than the various Explorers. You might have luck with a Tokyo grey market dealer like Houseki Hiroba or Jack Road etc., but I bet they’d ask for more than list price for a SD43, given that they are charging above list for SS subs (since they are the only game in town).
