Go smooth, not fluted. I've owned both the fluted and smooth white air king, loved the smooth and honestly, I hated the fluted, it doesn't work with the AK IMO.

Eventhough I got bigger rolex watches, but I want to complete my collection. Finally I bought this beautiful airking. Surprisingly I like it whenever I wear it. It is Comfortable on my wrist.

I agree. After many sport models, including a SeaDweller I find the Air King very comfortable to wear. Mine has been to RSC for the full service at some point in the past as it has Luminova dial and hands. It runs within a couple of seconds per day.

On the topic of 5500s sans Precision, for a little while Rolex simply didn't add it. I have a feeling it has to do with a few different versions of the 1520 movement being in use and it likely denotes a variation. No real-world difference though.
I'm well aware, it was humor. Tell that to the AD who said officially that it was an Air King in their shipping manifest. That was the only reason I posted it and remarked in the posting. Loosen your sphincter a bit.

In that case tighten up your sphincter. Sorry for the misunderstanding. It read as a critique to me. Again, you truly have my sincere apologies.

That'll do. Thanks. You got to admit the sphincter bit was a bit humorous.

I haven't seen another Air-King like mine here. I bought a new TT Air-King date with white dial from an AD back in 1981. The last time it went for a total rebuild to RSC in Toronto was in 2010 and has not been worn since 2012.The dial was changed to black. I had asked for a blue dial and crystal lens. They told me that was not possible because that was not available in 1981. I settled for the black dial. The watch is gorgeous and looks brand new.

Why have I not any other TT Air-King watches? Is it possible it was a Canada only option?

Most of the AK derivative references were commonwealth models only. So yes, that's why you haven't seen many elsewhere
