Because the more pics I saw of the black the more I wanted it over the white. So for me black got to me more so on the wrist it is! Will add a white down the road and am on list for one too.

I see. Have you seen the white and black side by side?

I still prefer white over black but haven't seen either one in person.

Saw them both in person and prefer white. Whatever blows your hair back!

I like the white, but i'm going to see both colours today (2016 Basel range viewing)....
I wish it was as easy as making a decision, but the real issue is to find one for sale which is likely to be the case for a few years.

Glad I got the black dial - but now wishing I'd put my name down for two! The white is equally awesome!

Black is growing on me, is the subdial a different color than 116520?

I really wanted a white one and your outstanding photos are making me want the black one so please stop posting photos. Or take worse photos. Or blurry maybe.

Help.

Storm Trooper white dial is the father.
You will not ever scratch the white itch until you get the white.
You may get the black first if offered to you first, but you will question why you didn't hold out for the white.
Storm Trooper Daytona all the way!!!!!

Oooh...you've gone down the nickname route, that will cause some upset!! Hold tight and fasten your seatbelt!!

The 'Storm Trooper' is awesome, I love the black but the white is equally awesome. Both are amazing!

Well then, you white owners had better improve your photography skills because the black owners are killing it.

I had similar thoughts about the white when it first came out - it should be the one since I had mainly black dials. But the black just stood out to me so I had to go with what I knew I'd want to wear regularly, particularly since they would not be easy to get.

I'm in NJ, perhaps you could let me see your black DC500 in person and then I could learn to hate it more. Any coffee shop in Bergen County, I'll buy.

Great photos! So the thread score is now:

Quality Black Photos 9
Quality White Photos 2

Still a ways to go. Still missing the ultimate white DC500 shot, the one that makes us go ooooh, gotta stay the course, in the same way that HL65's black shot in the BMW does to make us want to stray. I promised myself I'd go white this time. You guys need to help me. Please.

Very nice shot, but something is happening with digital cameras and the white DC500. Somehow it is making the black bezel look washed out, almost steel, whereas the black DC500's blackness accentuates the black bezel. I think it's a lens thing or a white balance variance.

In almost every white Daytona shot in this thread, the black bezel doesn't look as black as it does on the black Daytona. That's what's throwing me off I think.

I know this phrase has been thrown around a lot, but seriously - YOU CANNOT GO WRONG EITHER WAY!!!

I flew to HK and I had a choice between the black and the white, I chose the white for the simple reason that I made my mind up months ago based on Basel dissemenated photos. That's it.

But let's say I got to the shop and there was only a black one waiting for me - I'm 100% sure I'd be equally as happy.

Ofcourse I tried to bring the black home as well, but the sales guy would have none of daydreaming haha!

I think you're right, but, I really think when we actually see the white dial (I'm waiting patiently) it will put pay to all the black dial pictures and will amaze with its contrast and luster.
I'm not getting much of a beating for the "Storm Trooper" comment either.
The Daytona C must have subdued the masses! 😉

I was thinking....
The Daytona Cerachrom is a cool watch and highly desired by many folks right now.....so much so there are waiting lists, etc.

Do those who are obsessed with this watch have the desire to own BOTH the black & white dial versions?

I know my own OCD wouldn't allow me to own only one....I would want both....

What say you?
