I find it interesting that many dislike YG...have you seen a GMT 2C YG in person? It's an amazing watch! Old man ish? Na..... I guess at $34K + tax many can't afford one or have the disposable income to dump on a watch and can understand. As with most of the Rolex precious metal models they are very $$$$$! I am in my late 30's and get endless compliments...never old manish looking?

I agree, while a tad overpriced, the 18k YG GMTIIC is epic in person. Looks most bada$$ with a white button down shirt.

I only have one thing to say to everyone who made a comment insulting a specific model..

The fluted bezel coupled with the roman numerals (on some SD models) puts it in the dress/formal category to me. That should be reserved only for DD/DJ models IMO.

Cmon bro.
A lot of people here have watches worth more than that.

It's probably true that most people who wear them are older.
It's probably also true that some young people wear them or want to wear them.
But my guess is that they're a minority compared to the number of young people who don't like them at any price point.

Lock the thread.

There's a lot of styles of watches (including certain Rolex styles) that I just don't get, but who cares what I think!

Let's get back to preaching to the choir.. ;)

It gives an opportunity to say: hey I never like the Daytona but never express it openly because many will think or say "Sacrilige". But I will still say Congratulations on your new Daytona when that times comes because wether I like it or not, the SS Daytona (black even more) is one of the more sought after watches in the world. With all I didn't vote for the Daytona because yes I don't like it but I don't think is horrible either is just an average Chrono for me. Now Rolex with diamonds and Yacthmasters are for sure in the no like category.

SUBMARINERS go to any big city and they're EVERYWHERE. Oh and I love how people try to say its a dress watch when it has sports written everywhere.

Aside from the jewelled models or dials with spots, stripes or flowers, I like all the Rolex models.
I'd be happy to wear any one of them but reality is that I have to prioritise.
My 'watch-dream' would be to wake up, walk into the watch-room and decide which of a couple of dozen different models I'd like to wear today.
Viva la difference.

Everyone has opinions on what they like and don't like. It is not a bad thing that people share which models they don't like because this forum is full of opinion. Everyone compliments someone when they get a new watch posted on the forum whether they like the reference or not. This is what is also great about this forum, we can agree to disagree and in the end, we all choose what we want to buy because we like it and don't care what others feel about our choice!

Nothing in men's watches with jewels or diamonds on the outside of the watch or any model that have dials with designs such as flowers. Oh, and nothing in quartz.

Agreed.
There really isn't anything exclusive about most Rolex models.
Not that it's a bad thing.

Interesting. For what it's worth I think a dress watch is the opposite to the SD. For me, it should me modest and subtle. I should be happy to wear it to a funeral and not feel it might pull a second glance.

I would consider a plain dialled Air King on leather as more of a dress watch than a Sky Dweller.

My dress watches are my plainest watches.

Hey! I don't think that naming watches we personally don't like insults anyone at all. We don't all agree on things. Some people love those square Element SUV type things. I hate them. Some LOVE YM II. I don't. Some love tons of flashy diamonds on their watches. I hate them. I've seen some in the For Sale section that make my stomach churn. But if someone buys it and likes it, I don't think they're stupid, they just like something I don't.

That said, don't like YM IIs. So there :-)

Least favorite model does not mean you don't like it. It's just at the bottom of the list.

Not that I don't like it, it's just not my preference. I would trade all those complications for a date and some water resistance...
