I should add that I ordered several NATO straps from Eddie last evening. Cost insured w/tracking to the USA was just over $35 USD. Not bad imho. And, I got the shipping notice just now so they are on their way to the airport. Wish getting rid of my former g/f had been as simple.

Icon8 With Deep Regret

It is with deep regret that I must resign my membership in Nylon Nation. Here's the story. With great anticipation I ordered my Nylon Strap , spare springbars and Springbar Tool. I researched on the net the proper method of removing my bracelet. When they arrived I carefully set up my work surface. Though I tried and tried I was unsuccessful in get the bracelet off. Although I could compress the springbar ends I was unable to get the end link to move. It probably was my clumsyness and fear of damaging my precious Rolex. No problem though. I proceeded to my friendly jeweler who, though he was surprised, changed the bracelet to the NATO strap. Now heres the rub. I wore it for a few days . Though it looked good from the top view, because the strap is much lighter than the bracelet, it looked terrible because my GMT was always tilted to the side. If I went to the next hole ,it was too tight. There fore I have deleted my Nylon Nation Icon from my signature. I will always hold my membership, though short, with deep respect.

Well, Herbert, hate to see you go but the Nation is not for everyone.
The fact you have an open mind is what's really important.

Wearing this combo for tonights gig.

so i went to my ad today and was discussing a nato band on a watch and she immedietly interrupted me and told me that if i were to take the bracelet off a submariner and put any other band on the watch that it would void the warranty and if i were to walk in their store with a rolex on a nato strap they would confiscate it !!!!!!!!!

i did not argue with her and just said "oh really, i did not know that" and continued browsing.
first of all - no one can confiscate someone elses possessions without a cord order....period - correct?
second - does it really void the warranty?

Perhaps you should go back with the Rolex part number for the Rolex Nato band :)

I know this is a pretty old post. Is the buckle on the Rolex supplied Nato Rolex branded? Does it have the Rolex crown on it?

Requesting Review of this Membership Application

Dan

Thought I would post a pic to request membership. I included my trusty vintage Wayfarers and 20+ year old Mont Blanc. Not sure if the add on items will give extra credit or not.

I love a good NATO strap.
It's sturdy and safer than the Rolex band.

I'd like to join Nylon Nation and will get several nato strap for my GMTII-C. I'm planning to get the straps from David but not quite sure what size of strap for my GMTII-C...is it 20 or 22?

Following what I'm planing to get for my GMTII-C:
-Black Nato Buffalo Leather
-Black Nato
-Dark Grey Nato
-Black with Green stripe Nato

What do you guys think? what other color perfect for GMTII-C?
For black nato bufalo leather I should get the same size as for nato or zulu right? I'm not quite sure if different strap material will need different sizes for the same watch...

please advise me on these matters ....thanks

The natos you picked should look great.
20mm will fit perfect on all straps regardless of material.

I finally got round to trying out a Nato on my Sub. Looks and feels good.
But I don't think this will be permanent - more likely to switch this back
and forth with the SS bracelet. Thats what lugholes are for ...
