Is it me or are there a LOT of LV's with no B&P's?

Call me cynical, but I have been looking for the original 50th LV Sub, preferably Y series, for a while and EVERY single one I have come across; no box or papers but "guaranteed" authentic....how hard is it to stick the box and papers in the closet or safe and forget about them? Or is it, as my nature tells me, that most of these are not original Y or even F series LV's but imposters?

I have done what I believe to be a significant amount of homework and just am puzzled by this phenomenom...........

Interesting and yes you would think that putting the box and papers in the closet...and then removing it from the closet when you sell the watch wouldn't be too difficult.

They are probably converted LN's and are concealing their true identity by claiming that the box and docs are missing. It is too easy to put an LV insert and pawn it off as an original. I think that is why Rolex is asking a mint for them now.

However, the maxi dial would be a great indicator that it is indeed an LV.

I have my box and papers stored in the closet. I am thinking about changing over to a black bezel, simply because the old bezel cannot be replaced if damaged.

I think WIS's would naturally stow their box and papers. However, for most normal folk, they think they will keep them forever and therefore toss the extra weight. Just a thought.

You are totally right my friend, but some might actually have lost the box... Like me

It got lost in the mail when I tried to send it from LA to Denmark in order to avoid paying some extra taxes for bringing it through the Airport Customs.. :-(

Just bought mine yesterday, but it's being sent off for a cleaning. I'll be posting some pics after the new year.

Still counts if I take a non-LV and replace the black insert with a green? ;)

But that's not the LV. It has a black dial. Am I missing something?

The "old" Sub LV (16610) had a black dial - always

I thought the LV came out in 2010, starting with a G serial number (??)

My reference is in the table in the middle of the page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rolex_Submariner

I'm not trying to grill you bro. I'm honestly confused.

You can't grill me on that Look at all the 16610LVs with the black dial here in the thread.

There was a Submariner anniversary model ref. 16610LV (="old") from 2003 or so.
The LV stands for "lunette verte", green bezel.
That watch always had a black Maxidial.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rolex_Submariner

The new Submariner with the ceramic bezel came up in 2010 called 116610LV (= new model) and that always came with a green dial, unless someone was customizing it afterwards with a black dial.
