I’ve used Mark Worthington and Watchfinder. Both are very good though WF are pricey. That said, I bought a new Hulk off them at £500 under list price but that was back in 2010!

Have dealt a couple of times with Watchclub and been happy. Fair, knowledgeable and polite. Bought from Watchfinder pre Richmont takeover - they were good back then. The spread between their buy and sell prices is huge nowadays but they provide solid guarantees to buyers.

Found Tim to be up himself but remember John the owner as being more personable.

For Manchester based sellers I would thoroughly recommend Rolex watch trader. Sil who runs this company has absolutely fantastic customer service and is the most honest and genuine man I have ever met in the watch business. Check out his reviews on trustpilot. I have personally had a fantastic experience buying watches from him and his company.

I’ve sold a couple of watches to Miltons... they have shops in Chester and Liverpool. (I dealt with Chester on both occasions) I’ve made any purchases from them but prices seem to be more realistic. The owner is also a member on here.

If you make it up to Glasgow pop into Tom Col's in the Argyll Arcade. Lots of other shops in the arcade as well selling Rolex.

I know SWC are good, anyone else like to share their experiences with the following or anyone you would recommend?

• Blowers?
• Watch trader UK (Newcastle) - never heard of them but have a growing social media profile?
• Trotters Jewellers - again growing social media profile
• Watch Finder - I find their prices to be very high and have heard some bad stories.
• Chrono 24 - anything to look out for, I have seen a few private sellers but with no history of past transactions which makes me nervous as sometimes when the price looks good (due to lack of margin on the watch as its a private sale) you can still get stung with something you didn’t expect.

Thanks in advance
GMG have an office in London as well as Manchester. I’ve bought from them and sold to them previously. Great prices and service. Check their Insta out.

I’ve only only ever dealt with WatchFinder and like others have said their offers used to be very reasonable but have got very low as of late especially when you see what they put them up for. They are open to negotiation though and usually a reasonable deal can be agreed. And as others have also mentioned you are paying for the added security of dealing with a well established company and they do have big overheads with their prime locations, TV adverts etc.

I’m surprised that pre tax profit of 6M seems very low to me on that turnover.....

Rockerfellas always used to have a great selection but it’s reflected in the prices
