That looks wonderful! Too bad you had to sell it, sounds like an heirloom.

I agree, too bad you sold your fathers watch…I would regret that decision down the road.

Thanks Gents, but I didn’t have to sell it as I’m pretty financially secure. It was a choice to invest those funds in something else that I will hand down to my own kids someday. Vintage Rolex’s have a limited generational appeal, so good time to pass it along as the market is softening. No regrets either. My Dad would have supported this all day and would have been blown away at what his watch was worth nowadays. I still have a few of his other Rolex’s that I’m not going to sell. They are older, worth less, but mean more to me since they were purchased during his Navy days. I wasn’t hijacking as I talked with Tensai for almost a month(very nice fella). I never even considered selling this watch until I saw his post. I thought if I could give somebody exactly the Rolex they wanted, that maybe it was a sign to sell it. Ultimately, Tensai passed on it after much communication back and forth. But, another great buyer came along who is the right person to care for it going forward and a deal was made. There was a lot going on behind the scenes that you don’t realize. So maybe it’s a weird thread, but it’s more like a great example of something coming together at the right time.
This is so true: “How to sell a watch without trying to sell a watch.” Don’t forget to seize your own opportunities in life! Jason

Maybe next time you don’t need to sell a watch, list it in the FS section?

Jason (Derbs24) is a really good man!
A true gentleman and a watch lover.
Best to him and his family, and to the lucky new owner of that amazing watch.

Been out for a pootle in my 412i today...don't want to sell it, but if it sells here, well that's just fine...;-)

To keep it apples to apples, you should probably join a Ferrari forum, wait for a post for someone looking for your exact year/make/model car (‘87, 412i, auto for example ) and start there. Not sure what you’ll drive your poodle around in though? So maybe you should just keep it.
