Common watch. You can and must do better. Pics from dealer? Deceptively distant and ill focused.

I have never posted before and am just a normal individual looking to make a once in a lifetime purchase and don’t want to make a big mistake. If people argue about 1k value either way I’m happy enough, but I don’t want to buy something that people who know this area in detail would sat stay well clear.

Try as I might, I just can't see anything really wrong with these pictures, I don't see the point in the chainsaw comments.

The "buy the seller" comments are always valid because you want to purchase from somebody reputable to avoid fraud, which is rare, but still out there.

The crown guards look pretty short and rounded off to me but the picture quality is not good.

Watch has clearly been cleaned up. "Over polished" is overused.

Yes, as has been mentioned, it has been polished, but it is far from "over polished"

Here is one of mine - never been touched and is about the same age.

This.

Low quality/res pictures notwithstanding, this example looks relatively strong, especially if you consider the "average" condition of these now-days. There are watches that may qualify for the Scarlet "O.P." moniker, but this isn't one of them. The features/dimensions are still prominent. The lugs are not toothpicks, the crown guards are not razor thin, and the coronet on the clasp is not faint or polished away. So yeah, far from "over-polished" by any reasonable definition/standard.

You should ask for more <or a specific> photo to show they have the actual watch.
