UK London based, I only wear the Day date with long sleeves. But if you are out of town in a safe area, no problem to wear full gold with short sleeves.

Full gold wearing experiences

Did any of you find it too much and maybe downgraded to two-tone? Or supplement your full gold bracelet model with a leather/rubber strap to tone it down?

I purchased this 116618 LB Submariner ceramic around a month ago having always had T/T Rolex’s & having wore it I would never go back to T/T watches. It has a great feel to it especially in the weight compared to the T/T & I can safely say would never wear T/T again

I’ve got a couple of all gold pieces (Everose) that I do really love but have to think carefully where I’m going to be comfortable wearing them out in the wild. No such issue with White Gold however.

Full gold wearing experiences

Nothing but positive experiences for me with my full PM pieces. I rotate them throughout most of each week, but my YG champagne stick DD40 gets the most wear by far. To me, that watch goes with everything and fits in anywhere.

Obviously PM works great when dressed up, but more often than not, I wear mine dressed down with some combo of shorts or jeans, t-shirts, and sneakers.

The feeling of wearing full gold is amazing. Hate to sound snobbish but when I only had the funds for a tt, I had to convince myself that I actually liked tt and full gold was old fashioned / too blingy/ not for me.

I was fortunate enough to try and own a few full gold pieces. To me, if I am paying gold money, I want it to show and be obvious. And full gold does just that!

Now I honestly don't think I'll ever own tt again, either ss or all gold.

Has this ever happened to anyone?

Not really. I own a few PM pieces but I still love SS and wear them often. I appreciate all the metals and colors and want them all!

Nothing bad to say about a PM Rolex. I went with WG, to tone it down a bit.

I wear a white gold Submariner, the 126619LB. With its black dial and blue bezel, only someone who knows watches know it's a full gold watch. I seldom get a second glance so I must assume it doesn't register since it's not YG or RG.
I'm comfortable with a two tone watch and have worn a TT Sub or TT GMT for many years. Sometimes they get more attention than I want. I don't particularly like full YG or RG on my skin tone but if I did, I wouldn't let the prospect of drawing attention prevent me from wearing one. I do believe I would be more aware of whether I was going to wear it with long sleeves or short sleeves depending on where I was going.
For me the WG is perfect.

I have probably more gold bracelet watches than steel.

The heft of gold is the best. Now, they absolutely they do call attention, but I wear long sleeves mostly and aware of where I let it show. But wear them all the time.

Jubliee steel bracelets look like gold to the masses do that can call attention too.

Yellow gold of course more bling.

I have a safe, but i am very aware of surroundings, etc. Not paranoid, but careful. Don’t go to party-lounges&bars/stadiums…so …

People that know look at them and they might or not say something. The ones that don’t know about fine watches, they realize quickly is an a pricey watch.

I am fortunate to have several watches, but gravitate 90% of times to wearing gold watches.

My 116619LB is my daily without a probleme, pure pleasure.
I have tries to daily the DD40 228238 but the YG is too loud for me (although I claimed the opposite lol)

One thing is certain, it is difficult to wear a SS watch after a PM

I wear my DD now and then and it’s just another watch.

No one really seems to notice it.

Don’t wear any gold Rolex’s but have been waiting for some WG and YG allocations from AP. I wouldn’t wear it without being a little anxious about getting robbed so I will def get insurance + CCW just in case I get robbed by armed bad guys

I have 1 SS and 1 TT Rolex, the other 6 are PM (3 YG). I wear them in rotation and love wearing any of the metals. The gold or PT feel a bit more special for the owner IMO, but not really noticed a whole lot by the general population. I have insurance and I wear them responsibly in the right situations, I think those are factors to think about.

PM watches are special. Take that any way you want, as it can apply to be both positive and negative. A favorite quote of mine is, "They don't give away Cadillac's and Rolexes". Times have changed and Cadillac is not the brand it use to be but Rolex is and more. I own a YG DD II, YG Sky-Dweller on bracelet and the WG Submariner 116619. They are each special to me and work into my collection very well. I don't dislike TT models, I just don't see the value in them. Other than a 70-80's retro vibe TT is not for me. If a collector is interested in a full PM watch they should try to make it work. At least you will know.

I’ve got a full RG Daytona on oyster and a ceramic RG Daytona on a leather band.

I get compliments on both but as noted, most people don’t notice watches at all.

Full gold, be aware, don’t get roofied. Those people notice and are looking for the gold watches but if you’re not an idiot there is zero risk. I enjoy wearing it so that’s all that really matters and that’s the decision that you need to make.

Only WIS even know what the Daytona on the alligator leather strap even is. The few others that notice just say”pretty watch”

If you want a full PM, go for it.

hot take: It’s only a matter of time watch robberies will become more of a thing in north america like they are in the UK/France. Low risk high reward crime.

Wonder if the sweet spot is RG GMT or oysterflex models for being flashier than WG but not as loud as yellow.

Full gold wearing experiences

Where I live, you’d immediately be considered an a$$hole for wearing a full yg/rg piece. And if you drive something very flashy that won’t help either.

I still love them though…..

I don’t understand your thinking. A full RG watch is still catching the eye of a thief. And any watch thief knows a OF Daytona, doesn’t matter the color.
