Well it's still an annual calendar if you never use the 2nd time zone. AC is a very useful complication imo

I used my speedy's chronograph last night to make pancakes, not what I had in mind for it when I bought it but I gotta say I was flipping those pancakes with precision

You can technically go an entire year without resetting and only have to adjust at the end of month of Feb in leap year. I’d make the same argument for a date function that it’s unneeded since I can remember, but nice to have. But I think it’s more useful than a GMT function if you don’t live and travel in a place like Europe.

So it knows which days have 30, 31, 28 and adjust automatically at the end of the month? Probably something I should know really I only where it a couple of days a time! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I don't know the SD; however I use my GMT when traveling. Even if its only an hour or 2 difference. As others have mentioned, is it really needed? No, but its somewhat useful and its fun to use.

Yes. Apart from February 28th. Because it's not a perpetual calendar, it can't distinguish a leap year. You have to jog the date past Feb 29th every year unless it's a leap year. Sky Dwellers that run constantly will next need adjusting on 1st March 2021.

I keep it set to home time, so I suppose I don’t use it, but if I travel out of my time zone I would certainly utilize the function.

if you like the watch get it. I rarely use any of the tools on my watches although I personally find the GMT function pretty useful as I travel frequently.

I am guilty of never using gmt feature , sub feature or sky d feature. I did really enjoy my sky do for the short period of time I had it. Pretty cool watch. I am thinking about getting another one. I had a 2 tone black face.

Legit lol'd at the thread question. Rolex is not a brand that attracts watch geeks or connoiseurs. They exist but farrrrrr from the majority.
i've heard of guys complimenting a GMT Master2 by saying "Hey, that's a nice gmt" then the wearer responds "No no, it's a Rolex" thinking GMT is a brand let alone actually using the function. my first hand experience of this was spotting a fluted bezel under my doctor's shirt cuff and asking him "oh nice. is that a datejust or sky dweller?". He removes the watch from under the cuff, and puts on his glasses to actually read the dial to see that it read datejust as opposed to just knowing he didn't have an annual calendar/gmt on his wrist... again, i lol'd at the thread title. Side Note: What's with people not using their chronograph function????? Ever since i had one, i'd time damn near everything. Particularly time boxing daily tasks, but i've read quite a few times over the last month "i'd go with the chronograph... not that i personally use it anyway" |

I use the GMT every week as I travel quit a bit. If I was at home for an extended time, I'd set the second zone to UTC because many info sources are keyed to that.

If you didn't have a month indicator, the date you set the watch too would likely be the wrong month, so you'd be back to manually setting the date at the month's end. |
