I agree it was misrepresented. I'd return it for sure.

To be fair, it's incredibly difficult to scratch the ceramic bezel on the Sub-C.. I would return it based on the seller calling it mint... It's becoming way too common for sellers to claim "mint" hoping the buyer just accepts it once they get it..

The watch doesn't fit my definition of mint because of the flattened teeth on the winding crown moreso than the tiny bezel blemish.

If you're not happy, return it, but keep in mind that you are buying pre owned.

I'd return it. A small superficial scratch on the base or bracelet is easy enough to get and more importantly fix if you want to, but a scratch/cut on the ceramic bezel?!

It is not mint so return it. Mind you a lot depends on how much you paid for it.

I would return it. I dont mind scratches on the case and bracelet, but the bezel would bother me. That isn't "mint" either. I would return it or trade it for another.

Return it.
That is not a small imperfection. A watch with a scratch in the ceramic bezel should not have been called mint in the first place and I don't think any seller could have missed that. If they are established here, I'm sure they will take care of you. One bad review can do real damage. |

Also, the problem is that some sellers use the term "mint" for a watch that has been polished and cleaned up, while other people equates mint to being LNIB.

Depends how much you paid and how old it is. It would bug me, used or not.

Webster dictionary: adjective adjective: mint 1. (of an object) in pristine condition; as new. "a pair of speakers including stands, mint, $160" synonyms: brand new, pristine, perfect, immaculate, unblemished, undamaged, unmarked, unused, first-class, excellent "in mint condition" Pristine = 'original' condition (as per Webster) This. Or I would contact seller and negotiate a healthy discount if you and the seller are willing to accept that solution. |

Yup, it was advertised as mint which implies like new. If you can see visible imperfections then pass on it or get a bigger discount and live with it. I'd be a little concerned as well about the integrity of the expensive insert. I've knocked my cerachrome bezel into just about everything possible and it still looks "mint." It would take a really good whack to mark one up. In the future I'd heed Vincent's remarks.

Yes just like any other product hit it hard enough ceramic will scratch and shatter, myself would try and remove that very very tiny mark with a tiny drop of rubbing alcohol.

Return/exchange ASAP. That scratch sucks and I would not accept delivery of the watch like that if it were advertised as "mint". The longer you wait the more you are keeping yourself and the seller in limbo, so set up the return today.

I could deal with a scratch in the steel, but that bezel is one of the more expensive things to replace on the watch. You'd even be better if with a ding in the sapphire. I'd return it.

If the seller is willing, I would return it. But keep in mind this seems somewhat gray. You had every opportunity to ask if there were any dings, scratches or notable marks, as well as requesting additional photos. BUT, if they said mint, you may not neccessarily think to ask, so it is reasonable to request a return. Or find out how much it would be to replace he insert with a "mint" insert and ask the seller for the money. Either way best of luck! |
