I think movements are cool to look at, they're what got me into this interest of watches to begin with!

I've got a couple with display backs. I never look at the backs. But to each his own.

Great case transparent watches especially AP ROs in your collection. Daytona's case back is really not good enough to show off, but it is better than nothing!

Very nice mod, Thomas!

But that 5205 though...

Your pictures of the ROs are making me anxious for tomorrow. I can't wait to get it on my wrist!

Good work Thomas

It looks great, I'm very happy for you.

Yes, I would blame Larry's (Tools) post as well. I have looked at it many times and been tempted...

Hi T,

I have a clear case back for my SS Daytona.

I haven't tried it for size yet.

You may have pushed me.

I hear you. I still like taking a little peak now and then to see the heart of that watch (any watch!). Best.

Sorry I wouldn't want a glass back on any automatic as half the movement is covered up at a time.
I hear you. The rolex movements are nothing special to look at, but I still enjoy it. Be well!

I hear you my friend. It's not something I do every day, but once in a while I'll take a look at the movement to make sure she's alive!

ha! Yeah. Hard to compare Rolex movements to other highly decorated ones form other brands, but what the hell.

I love a display back, but we all have to admit that Rolex movements aren't much to look at. The rotors cover too much. They aren't designed to be looked at, which is fine, but it makes a Rolex a less good candidate for a display back.
