As others have said, even of you get your money back - that dealer needs to be named.
If they sold it to you, there are two issues 1- they should have known it was a fake if they are a seller with references 2- the next guy may not be so lucky/smart to do his due diligence Name the seller please. |

You should name the dealer.
There is no debate around that. For each person like you, who knew where to look and who to ask, the are 10 people who didn't. They couldn't scam you, but they don't care if they could scammed 10 other guys in parallel. It is their responsibility to check all the watches and make sure 100% of them are genuine. Not 99%, not 99.9%, but 100%. This could be the reason why dealer was so quick in giving you the option to return - scammers don't like extra noise. |

OP,
You came on here with questions and many knowledgeable members were quick to help you. Now it’s time for you to name this seller, to potentially protect others. I don’t understand the reluctance in naming this seller. They didn’t do anything ‘special’ for you, they did what they were expected to do(refund your money). Specially considering they sold you a ‘questionable’ watch.

This is looking a lot like another fishing expedition to see if a high quality fake will pass for real.... 9 posts from OP and won't name a 5 start dealer who "missed" multiple tells... Sniff Sniff.... I smell fish.

Haha fair...definitely not fishing -- it was Stein Diamonds out of LA.
Again, everything I've said in this post about how they responded stands up and I do have the money back. |

Thank you OP for listing the dealer! I’m happy to hear the TRF community was able to assist, and you received a full refund. Keep an eye on their website and Chrono24 to see if the watch is relisted to dupe an unknowing buyer. I hope the watch is not relisted. If so, we will see their true colors.

Per their Terms and Conditions:
"Stein Diamonds prides itself in providing luxury watches at lower than retail prices. All of our watches are 100% authentic and unworn unless otherwise stated. Each watch comes with instruction manuals, serial numbers, and box sets. Although we are not directly affiliated with any of the watch companies whose products we sell, all of our watches are guaranteed to be 100% authentic and original. Stein Diamonds has a wide variety of watches available and we carry major brands including Rolex, Audemars Piguet, Patek Philippe, IWC, Omega, Franck Muller, Copard, and many more. For our Rolex watch collection, we have most of the watches we carry listed online in stock, but can also provide our customers with other dial options upon request. Our customers can contact us via email or phone to request availability and pricing information on a wide variety of watches. Our 14 day money back guarantee applies to all watch purchases." What happens after 14 days when buyer discovers its a phakey? Another reason to only pay with a credit card. |

Did they have photos of the actual watch. I suspect movement is genuine - hence reason they thought and sold watch as genuine A

EDIT -- I had the same thought that perhaps the movement and some portion of the rest are genuine and that this is maybe a frankenwatch, not a straight-up fake. |

good on you for giving seller info op. if it's a dealer, i would really say they should know the difference between real and fake watches. even though the fakes are supposedly near clones nowadays.
easier to forgive a lay person who may not have known, but a dealer...... and this is exactly why i've pretty much done with the gray market |

But if movement was a genuine Rolex, then sadly most dealers just look at that, and in many cases dial and hands are pretty darn close. A

It’s just not an issue or risk (and certainly not a “huge risk“) if you’re dealing with one of the top ~5-7 sellers on this forum. It’s just not. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Now that I'm looking to finally purchase my first Rolex (I've had my eye on the LV for a long time and wish I had the cash saved up when prices were "normal"), I've quickly realized the challenges that come with eyeing a popular watch. This isn't a watch I'll ever flip or sell. I don't think I'll ever sell a watch TBH unless I come across one that I don't connect with. Anyway, I do appreciate all the help. I can assure you I don't work for a dealer and am not doing some scouting mission to get fakes into the market. Just trying to find a good deal on a watch I've long desired. |
