Err buddies...to make Orchi's opinion more clearer...
perhaps Orchi should say...in Orchi's own opinion...
the caseback is FAKEEEE...instead...?

Please compare the machine polishing patterns...between
these casebacks...

eBay's watch...

A couple of examples...(pics courtesy of VRF)

Compare also the...(Viagra or Rugby) "ROLEXSA" hallmark...(RM NO. 644)

any competant watchmaker can detail the inside caseback. the steel model 2508 rolex markings(too shallow) do not look right to me,Perhaps its the light but this case scares me more than the one in question.

rolex chronograph

Just checked ,, and there is pitting to the caseback as evident in the original listing so their had to be rust at some point which would explain the non factory polished case, likely cleaned up and crudely detailed by a watchmaker when the dial was redone.the rolex stampings look correct especially compared to the steel 2508. Looking at some examples presently on line, and in some well respected publications , and there are many,.. Without ,this nice original factory detailing to the inside caseback of the 18k example shown above. I still think this one is correct. check out ebay item #20407329914, closes today . no detailed back or model number ..several bids.

Sorry guys.

Take a close look at this watch. Look at the poor execution of the movement and wheels. The case is an abomination. The dial is trashed.

I have learned long ago to say "never" when it comes to Rolex as they did some strange things. But this watch is just not a credible example, IMO.

I am sorry but the wheels are positioned exactly as they should ,for a valjoux 23 base caliber, they are 100% correct for a 2 register early model...I would agree the factory finish on these wheels and movement in general are showing wear ,I assume this is what you are speaking of . the dial is not relevent to authenticity as it is restored and I think most agree. Poorly. The wheels and a couple very insignificant comments on this watch interested me and I found to be very trivial without merit which really initiated my interest in this thread...this being the comment made on the buckle perhaps not being authentic. I purchased three straps and buckles back in the 70's from the local rolex service centre. They are gold fill and appear identical in construction. ...too much time on this one and I am afraid that's it for me as well.

---------------

yes. but scores of companies from Heuer down to Nivada used this calibre.

The finish of this watch is very very un-Rolex.

Again, I have learned to "never say never" when it comes to Rolex but this watch is just awful.

And are you sure about Rolex D"Agentina's info posted above?

Thanks.
