Yeah - depends on the real purpose of a modern Exp II - lots of outdoor activities, hill walking and overseas travel - sure; I admit I have never been spelunking in my life!

I haven't been exploring with my new Explorer yet, but I have used the GMT function on my BLNR quite a few times while traveling.

LOL. I use my chronos to time steaks too. It’s true purpose. Who’s racing around in a car timing laps with their watch?

Using Rolex for Intended Purpose
When flying I always wear my GMT and I fly a lot, there was a time when I didn’t have one in the collection (a short time) and I get to get it back that quick set hour hand is just amazing and I missed it a lot.
I wear my sub on vacation (no I don’t dive but I do swim and beach a lot with the kids) Day date is a work and special occasion watch for me. Gets less wrist time these days but still the special one. I’m not a scientist so I guess that could explain why I don’t wear my Milgauss much anymore. That and I miss a date function when I do. When spelunking in the man-cave, is it safe to wear my Rolex during air hockey?

I really on use mine to tell time. I do use the Sub bezel to time a few things though.

Yup, I used the "jump hour" function on my Explorer II every week before I retired. I still use it when travelling, just not so often. (PS I prefer the non-rotating bezel on the Explorer II.)
