I imagine Paul might if they slap tumi on the side but i can't imagine these things being a huge hit, if anything I would think a better target market would be the elderly who have trouble getting around airports, not lazy young people.

I think you're right about that, but I can also see middle-aged business travelers being interested in these.

I would presume that those most interested will be frequent travelers, as the cost would be prohibitive for most folks who only travel for holidays and such.

I had an experience at DFW a number of years back when I was accompanying a child to another state (Child Protective Services) that I could have definitely used one of those.

I can just imagine, though, at some time in the future when prices drop, having an airport full of those things zipping about.

It could get ugly.

Whilst I would not want one, it IS a very clever product and I could imagine that old or infirm regular travelers (fly to visit the kids once a month) might see it as a good thing.
6 klms is more than adequate from a battery charge and the capacity to charge other devices is good thinking.
From another perspective, it could be a bit of a hazard to pedestrians - like skate boards, disability scooters, and Segways. Anything self-propelled gets misused.

Don't invest in this. I'll leave it at that.

I'd like to see the accessories list:

Ohlins suspension.
Clipons.
LED indicators.
CNC foot pegs
Carbon fibre heel plates.
Etc.

I didn't watch the entire video to see if they mention the weight, but pack a toothbrush and a pair of undies and you might be at the allowable limit. With the over the limit baggage weight fees these days, it could get costly.

When I travel, I'm often at the limit already. Add the motor, battery, wheels etc and I'm done.

Why would airports allow people to ride these throughout the terminal? Don't they already have wheelchairs and electric vehicles for those who really need them?

Totally agree. My first thought was: "Great, another invention to keep us Americans from having to do manual labor... Like walking." Aren't we fat enough?

Haha I found the first part of the video funny with the lady in heels riding it around. Many folks out there might be interested in this but unfortunately I'm not one of them at the moment. Neat product though.

Walking through an airport is dangerous enough now, can't wait for hoards of people zipping around while texting. Geez...

Modobag: Who's getting one

Interesting but not for me. I hope I don't get in a head on collision with one in the airport!

I don't get it myself either.... those with problems walking already have options at airports.
