Well these are pics from a listing on ebay and its unbelievable that this fake is being described as genuine and current bid is around US$7500.
Thts vry sad for the winning buyer if he pays for this Folex such a huge amount considering it a genuine daytona.
I've reported to ebay that its a scam going on but lets see whether this listing ends before its completion.

The books shown in the photo are not the books that come with the Daytona. The paper work under the watch is not the paper work that comes with the Daytona either. Stay away from Sleaze Bay there is nothing on that site worth loosing your money over.

Please look carefully to the dials crowns they are not high quality and not equal as original ones and secondly, the hand in the middle has too much sharp teeth.ROLEX logo is more oval than original at down side of the 5 arms and the hands of hour and minute is shinning more than original one and the illumination areas are a little bit thinner. Fake but a good fake. I can buy it for 100 USD if I can find a fake Rolex as this good fake one really so nice where did you find it?

Does a D series come with fat hands? The picture has thin ones. At some point please list all the differences you've identified.

Thanks,
Rob

You are right from late F series Daytona stated coming with Fat Hands n the watch has thin hands.
The differences what I picked are, if you carefully notice, the fonts on the sub dials are totally different from the ones in the original. The ones in the fake are having no round in fonts rather they are all having edges which is not the case in original.
Also the 'A' in perpetual and cosmograph is different from the original if you notice. The A is pointed at the top in fake which is not the case in genuine.
Also the hour markers at 3,6 n 9 are perfect rectangles or square whtevr which is not in case of original.
The other differences are already figured out by the rest of the members

So finally the purpose of this post was that you have to be really really careful if buying Rolex online as after seeing this listing I cant think of anything better than this. These kind of Folexes can fool any novice in Rolexes so plz be vry vry cautious

The laser etching is just way too visible.

The etching on my TT GMT II, needs a 10x loupe, plus good angled light before it can be seen.

Photographing it, is very difficult as well.

FAKE!!

Wanna Buy a Rolex Mister

I was in Kuala Lumpur at the weekend and there were kids running down the market after us with handfulls of "Daytona's" for about 80 riggets or around 12 quid or 25 US

Unfortunately some of them didn't actually look that bad, on the right of the pic one stall with more Folex than you could shake a stick at.

Well done Ashu,
this is a great post you started. These 'high end' fakes are bad enough, but when I think that there would be people out there who will bid for this watch and part with their hard earned money believing it to be authentic it makes me real mad.

I am glad you started this post and have contacted eBay about it as well.

Perhaps you might be able to post this sign on it?

I'd say it's a FAKE.

D-series MUST have the "Fat Hands" (introduced in the (late) F-series!

The hour markers are SLIGHTLY too big (especially the square one at 9) and the font of the Rolex writing etc. on the dial is wrong and too blurred / unclear.

The minute hand is too long!

I have had a look at my Daytonas and without actually holding this Daytona in my hand IMHO it is genuine. I think the etching is the correct size, the quality of the lume surround looks good and so does the dial layout.

Hi Bo,

Not everyone will always agree with you.

I gave my opinion, if you don't like it then shove it you know where.

Well Eddie this fake is no doubt vry vry close to original and I'm sure 90% people if not having any hint or lcue would consider it real and thts I why I started this thread to increase the percentage of 10% people so that these kinda scamss could be avoided
I agree with you that the crown etching, the dial layout is perfect but the "A" in Superlative n cosmograph on the dial is pointed at top which is not the case in genuine and the biggest flaw is that the numeric fonts on the subdials are having no rounds rather having sharp edges which is not like genuine. Also as Bo said the hour markers at 9 n even at 6 n 3 are having vry sharp edges differentiating it frm the genuine.
And the biggest flaw that many noticed that D serial with Normal hands n not Fat hands confirms its a fake.

So it was nice that now we all know that how perfect Folexes are in the market and soon the day would come that people would only buy Rolexes frm Ads as these folexes are becoming perfect to original day by day n soon they couldn't be distinguished frm the originals unless n until they are checked for their movements.
